Why wouldn't you want to put the oil back in the motor where it came from?

If the oil level drops enough then you would have to add more oil to the crankcase, why not just put the oil back from the catch can, it's no different than the oil that is still in the motor. All that oil in the catch can is is oil that got sucked up by the pcv vacuum.

1) this will never collect enough oil to need to add oil. If it did, you have a engine problem LOL
2) the bigger question is why would you even want to? It's used oil, wouldn't you want to add clean new oil to the engine?

Sure, you can put it back in the engine, but were talking about a tablespoon here and there.
Personally, I'd add fresh clean oil if it needed it.

Thanks
Jay

Looks great Jay.

Now that Charliehorse mentioned it, i cleaned out his small amount of oil with a paper towel and placed it in my kitchen trash can. It smelled so bad i had to take the trash bag outside to my large can. It smelled like very concentrated used motor oil with a slight burnt grease smell added

So here is how much oil collected after about 250 miles. Quite a good amount actually. I drove mostly highway miles, but did punch it several times to "test" out the intake and tune:

Man that seems like a lot. I can't imagine how much I've sent back through the intake in the 4300 miles I've had my car. I'll need to look into this.

Thanks for the report.
This is nothing new, just new to this group of car owners. All cars do this, but the more you do to keep it out of the intake the better.

We are sold out of separators, with clear and black expected to be finished machining Feb 11th.

Thanks
Jay

Here's a capture after about 350 miles of conservative driving:

Got mine today. It looks awesome and install in less than a minute. One thing that got my attention was the craftsmanship and quality of the thing.

+1. I like the stock connectors and hoses as well as the billet design. It really looks like it belongs in there.

I changed my oil around 750 miles ago. I checked my JLT Catch Can a couple days ago, it had around 3/4 of an inch of oil in it. I didn't take a picture of it . If you love your Mustang, please add a catch can .

Cleaned the catch can out today after about 600 miles. Nasty, brackish stuff
