Grill replacement

My wife is going to kill me! After installing new wheels yesterday, I have come to the conclusion that either I need to match the front grill with paint or it needs to be replaced. What are your thoughts ?

Got better pics of the wheels? They look nice!

Just from that top pic, i think a black grille would look nicer, will break up the grey more. im biased towards roush

PS. Maybe buy the wife a gift first, of equal or greater value at least, then get your car parts? Maybe she'll be too happy to kill you lol. Im not married though so just throwing out ideas

Thanks for the input, my wife would appreciate that. She gets her share of gifts. Here is a close up: Shelby CS1

You can always try plastidip. Home depot also sells the glossifier as well. I used the glossifier on my spoiler to give it the 13 Boss look and it came out pretty well. Sometimes plastidip looks too faded but the glossifier really helps.

Thank you, I might try that. I'm not a fan of the flat black look, the gloss may look good.

i think it would look good if you painted it black and put the emblem in the center. just my opinion though.

That was the next thought. Was how to paint the emblem. I like the position already but half of it is chrome and colored tribar. Going to paint the horse black and keep the colors.
Wish me luck. This will be tomorrow's project.

Working on the grill now. The plastiDip went on smoothly. Waiting for the cure to gloss it.

Grill complete. I'm happy with the results but I may take off the plastiDip and use another paint. Black gloss. I decided to keep the emblem removed for now. Some shots of the grill and rims. She matches again!

It was an easy removal:
I took my time but I ended up with NO broken clips.
Proceed carefully:
Blue Painters tape is your friend for this project. I lined the bumper with it just in case the grille would rub on it when removing.
Remove the radiator cover that is being held down with the plastic push pins, with a flathead screwdriver. Then you can reach you hand in and feel the clips for the top grill, comes out as one unit with black surround.
There is a sensor attached to the bottom grille. It pushes out easily.
Once that is removed then reach your hand in the grill space and feel for the bottom grill clips.
Once painted and cured, push each grille back in gently and you will hear the clips grab each position with a click.
This was a trial and I was never a fan of the plastiDip and Im still not impressed with it for this application, so I will remove the grills again and peel off the plastiDip and rePaint with a different paint for a smoother surface - when I have some more free time.
I'll take removal pics once in progress.
The horse emblem came off easily as well, there is 2 nuts holding it on, It blocks the airway for the intake, and conveniently there is two holes on the opposite side of the grille for it. When and if I put it back on, it will go on the opposite side.
I used the word "easy" a lot in this post

When I looked at the top pic I was thinking 'Why mess with it?"

It is such a good looking car. But the 'after' pics answered the question. Looks super with the black unadorned grill.
