^ Man that is crazy. I didn't realize how much i had spent on my car till my uncle asked me "So man, how much have you spent on your car since you bought it?"

So i was like probably 5k or 6k. Then he's like "no way, what parts and how much?"

So i listed all the parts and approx labor and the total was almost 9k.

It's crazy how you don't know how much you spend on the car till you think about it and start adding the expenses.

I think it probably sneaks up on you because most of us only do a couple mods at a time.

Get a 5" shorty antenna instead of the 12" one. Looks way better and there is no difference in signal for radio/Sirius. Go on Amazon, there 25$. You'll be happy you did!

+1 on tune being your first mod.

Next I would suggest you save up for wheels and tires for sure. So many people over look tires but they are one of the most critical parts of the car. As the only thing that touches the road, they affect literally every single performance characteristic. And *good* wheels are an excellent and often over looked performance upgrade as well (many people change the wheels, but most only pick them by looks). A good performance wheel reduces unsprung and rotational mass, allows for wider tire fitment, and provides more brake clearance. Like tires, your wheels affect nearly every single performance characteristic of the car. It's best not to buy the cheap 30lbs+ Chinese wheels that end up on so many modified Mustangs.

Don't worry about asking questions though, that's how you learn. I just turned 20 and never had anyone to teach me anything besides the basics, just learning by doing and researching. I changed my own oil for the first time when I was 17. Last year I built my first motor and now I'm finishing up a relatively complex engine swap (at least compared to the engines of old). You can learn pretty much anything on the internet these days.

The warnings about how quickly mods add up are all true though lol. I'm somewhere around the 15-20k mark just in parts and I got the car for only 14. And this was supposed to be my nearly stock daily lol.

I like your style, all go and no show. But are you including labor in that? Even 9k sounds like a lot, but I guess when you add up all the small things the price rises fast.

Only $550 was the labor for my gears install. I did all the labor on everything else. The over $9,000 includes several tunes i've bought. This 'does not' include money i've spent on oil and filters that i have changed myself.

iceD, that car looks mean has hell. And, "Little Red" is really sharp looking, too.

I started with the visual mods to make the car "mine" (you can also do a number of these for relatively less money), but I've recently been getting into the performance mods. The tune opens the throttle up nicely, and the gear change makes it feel like a whole new car. But, it does drop the MPG a bit if you're driving it a lot. Nothing wrong with having a cruiser instead of a racer.

You guys are making me want to add up all my mods. I doubt it's at $10K yet, but it's probably pretty close.
