Ceramic Brakes?

Sure you are not talking about ceramic rotors? I don't believe ceramic pads are very popular for track use because of what Ltngdrvr said. Hawk's autocross/track brake pads are not ceramic.

Would you say they are the same or better than the stock pads on your car? I don't track my car either so guess it should be OK for me then plus mine is a V6. Also another thing that discourage me going ceramic is that supposedly they don't stop well at first when is cold outside. Since I live in the Northeast need to worry about this.

They are an upgrade....if you don't like cleaning brake dust.
My semi-metallic pads don't bother me any, with gray colored rims you can't see the brake dust they make.

Those hawk ceramics may have increased stopping power over a basic organic pad but not over the performance pads that come on the V6 PP cars or on any Shelby, the other claims in the text are correct though.

And ceramic pads, all pads for that matter, make dust when applied. It's just that the dust on ceramics is light colored and doesn't stick as bad and doesn't eat into the finish on the wheels.

"Euro spec" vehicles are designed to run at autoban speeds; much higher then what we have in the states. Germany for example has a hugh stringent inspection program, preventing vehicles from being operated on their roads if they don't pass. The brake pads installed on most factory vehicles over there are ceramic. Install ceramic. You'll be fine. If you were towing a large trailer down hill such as a truck would be, then I'd suggest the semi metalic, or if you were running the Wakins Glen road course and planned to change out the pads afterwards, I'd suggest something other than ceramic.
As TexasBoneKing said, this is being over-thought.
