I went with chrome because I actually like seeing the heat change the color of the tubes. They currently are a nice bluish color that fades to silver the further away from the motor one looks.

Headers over TB all day long. Good call bro. I have the long tube ceramic headers because I like them not discoloring and keeps then cooler. Lol

Will this throttle body fit with an Airaid CAI?

I just picked up the BBK TB which I was planning to save for last but I got it for almost half price. Barely used but my point is keep an eye out on the fourm and eBay and you can find a good deal on one.

I'm always worried about used products. To each his own.

That's the only way I would buy a throttle body because I wouldn't pay 400 dollars for a new one. Even 200 dollars is questionable for me but no way $400..

+1 i $400 is wayy to much with out much if any power improvement. i would buy a used one in the $200 range though.

I agree, 200 dollars I might buy one but I would look for a deal around 150-175 dollars for one. Its debatable on actual power gains from a throttle body.

Supposedly the ecoboost TB is 73mm and a lot less expensive. Ask popeye if you want to know more.

Not sure if you physically measured it, because this guy has and says it's 73mm:

your link doesnt work for me. but heres a link with a bunch of info about the ecoboost engines and it says 70mm and theres plenty of threads about people putting the 73mm bbk throttle body on their ecoboost engines and gaining 15-20rwhp from it. http://www.full-race.com/articles/in...ost-f-150.html

although i believe ours is 68mm but not sure. if so the ecoboost might help some. 2mm wouldnt be much of a improvement but if you polish it and maybe port it a little then it might just help out.

I have a 14 V6 auto and was kicking around getting the BBK TB. I was purchasing the Airaid CAI/Bama tuner combo from AM and wondered if I should do the TB since the intake would be off. Before I did, I spoke with a Bama tech and he told me to save my money because the tune would take care of the throttle improvements, so I didn't. The addition of the CAI and 93P tune made a huge difference in my car's responsiveness and power. I'm very happy where it is right now, so I don't feel a need to get the TB, but that's me. We all have our own goals. As a side note, I had a tough time getting the coupler on the stock TB. I can imagine getting it on the larger one would be a bear. I know it's been done, but I had to walk away a couple times trying to install it on the stock TB. lol I don't have much experience working on cars, so I'm sure someone with more would have less of an issue. If I added the BBK now, I really don't think I would notice a difference. It's only 5 more mm. Can that small of an increase really do much?

Also, I read on AM that unless you have a heavily modded car, going up to the largest TB can have adverse effects on your car's performance.
