Question Anybody Bama tune a 2014 V6 Automatic?

I've read all the different reviews stating that the different tunes, street and performance, improve shift points and overall shifting performance on '11-13 V6s with automatics.

My question is to folks with the new 2014 automatics. Does it just improve the default "D" mode or does it impact the sport mode as well? I'm comparing the Steeda vs Airaid CAIs with Bama packages for my first mod.

Mine won't be here till August at least. Still hasn't been scheduled to be built yet and the shutdown's coming.

I've been driving Audis and VWs with "shiftable" automatics (some DSGs) with Drive and Sport modes for over 10 years. I rarely shift myself, I let the tranny do it. If I wanted to roll my own I woulda went manual. When I hammered a '14 auto on a test drive, the D mode wasn't as good as the Germans. I was pleasantly surprised how good the S mode was though. I'd like to improve D on the Mustang without making S un-drivable.

As of right now, on the 2014 V6 our custom Bama tune will just affect "Drive". It will not adjust the parameters in Sport mode..

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

I did call after posting the OP. The tech I spoke with indicated that the tune does only affect "Drive". I assume that putting the shifter in Sport involves a subroutine that changes the tranny's operation. My concern was, will the new parameters possibly affect the branch to that sport subroutine in the "stock" tune.

Not that I don't believe you, Dan, but I was kinda hoping for another '14 owner to pipe up and post his experience. I'm not a bleeding edge kind of guy. Maybe I should check the GT forum as well. Assuming it is the same tranny.

As to the wait, Yeah, that's about where I stand on my factory order.

The tune only effecting the transmission's D profile parameters is certainly intriguing.

They have monthly specials and sometimes holiday specials. I'm holding out on a few things to see if they will have it on sale for the 4th

Just found out today that my car won't be here until end of August or early September. More time to get feedback from folks to who've modded their '14 V6 auto's. I'm really leaning towards the Steeda CIA and SF3 Bama tuner. I'm surprised that AM has the Steeda and Bama package for the GT, but not for the V6. They do list the Airaid and Bama Package.

Steeda makes a strong argument for their CAI solution. Maybe the V6 doesn't benefit as much from the venturi effect/larger diameter tube vs the Airaid CAI.
