As you mod along, you will need to tune it. That's the best way to get the most out of your mods. And eventually, you WILL need to tune it for certain mods like long tube headers, high gears, wide tire size. Or your car will run lean and the speedometer will be off.

I do not anticipate any mods like headers or cold air intakes that require a tune. I also want to keep my warranty intact, a factory gear installed by the dealer + no tune = no warranty issues.

Got a quote from the dealer, $1,267.00. They said they could do 3.55's for the same price. I asked about recalibration the speedo and they said it is done by changing the wheel sensors. Is this true?

No it's not true. There are only two types of wheel speed sensors, "front" and "rear". Or Front left, front right, etc etc if you go with Motorcraft parts but there is no such thing as a different wheel speed sensor for each application of gear ratio. Check for yourself on rockauto.com.
