Who has Circle D converters?

I'm going to get one soon. I just don't know which one. Which model circle-d converter do you have? And what is your experience with them and your thoughts? Pros/cons? Thanks

They are the best converters out there, ran one in my old fox body car with an AODE.

As to which one to get, call Circle D and talk to Chris Sehorn, he's the owner and will help you choose the one that is best for you.

I have a Circle-D converter in my '14 GT (it's their 6R80 Pro Series Stage III 245mm). I installed it at the same time as a 1-pc driveshaft and dropped 6 tenths off my 1/4 mile ET's !!! Best bang-for-the-buck, IMHO.

Their standard offerings (1C-5C) didn't stall high enough for me, so Chris custom built a 4E to stall higher for me. I asked for a 4,500 rpm stall speed, and it actually flashes a bit higher to nearly 5,000 rpm's, which is fine by me. I ran a 4,800 rpm stall in my supercharged '07 GT, so I'm used to it.

My car is a daily driver and the converter is very street friendly. It's a lock-up converter, so my highway mileage was unaffected by the converter. Around town mileage went down a little since you see a few extra revs in the lower gears, but it's well worth it for the entertainment value!

I try to tell the automatic guys how much difference a converter can make but they never seem to believe it or truly understand. It's not a cheap mod but it's second only to FI/NOS on these cars in how much performance you can get from a mod.

So true! I've been running big stall converters in my automatic cars for nearly 30 years now starting with the '68 Pontiac GTO I owned back in the mid '80's. Drivability is awesome and performance is greatly improved. Just need a good tune with the new 6R80's to really take advantage of the stall and lock-up timing.

There's a guy at my track in a 12' with nitto DR's, tune and a circle d running 11.30-11.40. I just forget which model converter. I know it's a 3c or 4c; I just forget which. My best is 12.18. I know this is a must have mod.
