What traction setting for strait line...

Little confused about settings, on start up all nannies are on, with brakes applied 2 hits on traction button brings advance sport mode. Does this mode limit tire spin in strait line at all or just free it up some? is this the best setting for strait line or does fully off make a difference? I like not going sideways so sport is fine but wondering.

Did a strait line today with both sport traction and sport shift mode activated at same time. Plenty of spin off the line but not even a chirp into second I hear that's how these cars are without a tune though and not really a big deal I guess.

Also which sport Mode (shifter or traction) automatically changes the steering to sport? Or do both individually? Noticed my normal steering setting became stiffer when turning after the run.

I haven't messed with it much yet, but I can chirp the tires into 3rd with traction/advance trac ON... as long as it's fast and smooth... Maybe you're just being a little slow and/or gentle, nothing wrong with that!

Or maybe he has an automatic?
I've found the traction control to be pretty lenient during straight line acceleration. My car will actually spin quite a bit with nary an intrusion when going straight. If I'm turning however it will step in soon after the car steps out.

Yep automatic. It has the regular Drive and also the new (I think the 2012- didn't have it) Sport shift mode. Basically it has an "S" under the "D" that makes the trans hold higher RPM's before shifting. It may or may not change the steering setting as well but not sure.

kind of hard to bark the rears with a automatic unless you have tuned the shift points in the tranny control unit. MTs are a lot easier, heck i can get the tail end sideway right before the traction control comes in to spoil the fun.

hit the brake and two taps on the AdVanTrac and its Free *****...

Mine has the sport shift slot, but when I go from 1st to 2nd at WOT it doesn't want to shift and hits the rev limiter. So I just hold it in first until 3k or 4k then bump it back up to D.

Something is wrong if your in automatic "S" mode and hitting the rev limiter. You did not hit the + or - buttons right? doing that would take you to manual shift. Mine shifts a bit before the redline no problem.

If you have a 2013 auto youll need to disable the abs in order to do a burnout because even with traction control and advance trac disabled the 13s wont let you do a stationary burnout like you could with th 11s & 12s. Wonder when the tuners will incorporate this into the 2013 tunes.

I just went from a stop, moved it from drive down to S, and hit the gas. Pulled it to 6000-6500, pushed + and it hit rev limiter then I let off the gas and it shifts to 2nd.

When you hit the plus it activates manual mode. That's why your hitting the limiter. Mine doesn't hit the limiter.

Just to clarify...when you put it in sport mode, it is still automatic shifting. Once in sport mode, you then have to hit the plus button for manual mode to activate.

I mostly stay in D but some times if I'm in back road areas where I won't go over 45 I will shift to S. I have only used S in manual mode once, just not my thing and the computer is always better than me anyway

Same here. I just need firmer shifts, and a stall
