2. buy a steeda sway bar support or a granitelli radiator support. steeda=13lb savings 25 lbs savings for the radiator support
3. remove the strut tower support
4. remove the rear end damper if it has one
5. aluminum drive shaft
6. all aluminum suspension components where available
7. aluminum flywheel
8. aftermarket lightweight exhaust
9. light weight bogart wheels AND lightweight tires
10. cloth seat, spoiler delete. no extra options.

those are the things im doing with mine when it gets here.
A couple of the things there may not be immediately possible due to design changes in the 2011. You may have to wait for the aftermarket to catch up.

2. There is now a Z brace which appears to connect the sway bar cross member to the front of the K-member, it is part of the upgrades to achieve the 15% increase in torsional rigidity. It's the leftmost blue part in the photo below. As a result, there may be changes to the stock support that require a new aftermarket piece for the 2011's.

7. The new 5.0 uses a new dual mass flywheel. Apparently as a result the flywheel can't be resurfaced. Clutch repairs involve replacing the entire flywheel/clutch system. The purpose of the new clutch is to protect the transmission from shock and vibration. Replacing this system with a regular flywheel may be possible, but there will definitely be some engineering involved first.

can we not just remove the z brace and use 2005-2009 parts? possibly weld mounting tangs onto the earlier parts?

i plan to remove the stock suspension alltogether and use QA-1 stuff.

Who knows? I would be very leery about welding tangs on, it's hard to know what kind of loads have to be carried by the tabs, so dimensioning them would be guesswork. I wouldn't want something to break when I'm hauling butt around a corner.

Good point, me neither. I wouldn't mess around in that area.

If someone produces lightweight composite fenders, hoods, and trunk lids - that would be another way to reduce weight. Most likely at a horrendous co$t. Isn't there a tuner version of the 2010 with carbon body panels? IIRC, very expensive. And please, don't rice it - paint it!

-100lb =1/10 reduction in 1/4 mile. If you want free power remove weight. And don't forget "go on a diet"LOL .
