Used supercharger prices

I eventually want to supercharge my 2013 at some point, but the average kit is $6k+. I know a lot of people take off all their performance parts before selling their car, so I've started casually looking at Ebay to see what people are selling used superchargers for. If I can get a used one with under 30k miles on it at half the cost, it may not be such a bad deal. I'm not looking to make crazy HP numbers either, maybe 100 extra WHP max (the car already has almost enough power stock). What do you guys think is a fair cost for a used Coyote 5.0 supercharger?? Also, do you think its a bad idea?

Used superchargers can be a iffy proposition, you never know what kind of abuse they've been subject to or what parts may be missing once you get it.

What if its from a good seller, the kit is complete, and the kit is still under parts warranty. And really how much abuse does the supercharger take? As long as its properly lubed, I'd say the engine and transmission take most of the abuse from a supercharger. Thoughts?

For your peace of mind and a warranty on the sc, it may be better to just buy new.

used superchargers are risky you never know whats been done or who installed it.

most sell them with the car and most sell the car because its got problems because its used and abused

The warranty on stuff like that is always to the original purchaser, so no warranty on used.

Now, if your best friend has one that he wants to sell you then maybe that would be okay, he could then make the warranty claim if necessary and you would know the history of it.

Soon, there will be a manifold made to adapt the GT500 supercharger to the GT and it will run about $2K, so once you gather all the rest of the parts you could get one on and running for around $4K, maybe less if you are a good deal hunter and scrounger.

Google "Department of Boost" and you should find the info.

I would NEVER buy a used supercharger. That's just me though.
Good luck.

im saving for a stage 3 myself. I looked at ebay but for the price and what it does to my car, I would rather get it directly from the dealer (Roush or AM or something)

We are direct with Roush, actually we should be a distributor for Roush real soon. PM us for pricing, you'll be pretty surprised.
