I have the Trackey tune on mine with the Moroso Separator. I have never experienced the pinging problem...

Most of the time I run 91 octane non-ethanol fuel. That is the best I have found in my area. Most of our fuel is 10% ethanol, but there are a very small number of stations that carry non-ethanol. I do occasionally run 91 blended with 10% ethanol, but only when a non-ethanol station is not nearby. I have not seen any local stations with anything higher than 91 octane. I do occasionally add techron additive to my fuel. But not every tank.

Not sure if your fuel contains ethanol and what that might do to the tune. I believe I am at a higher elevation, 2500 feet, that is going to make some difference.

I am not familiar with BG Supercharge and have never used it. Could it be that the BG is actually bringing your octane levels down? It might be only a boost if say the fuel is at lower levels like 85 or 87 octane. Or is it possible that oil slipping by to degrade the octane levels? To get the ping it makes sense to me that you are not at a high enough octane level. Just some of my thoughts, not meant to criticize.

When I bought the TracKey - I had minor pinging on the drive home (w heavy throttle), but then never again. (I have always run premium fuel).

The instructions warn that pinging might occur as the computer adjusts. (or something like that - going by memory, sorry).

Its either that, or possibly you are getting fuel that is lower than the rated octane. (Our local news did a story on that a while back - tested premium from a bunch of stations & a few were selling regular in premium tanks.) Switch stations & see if that changes anything.

Also, I just installed a Moroso oil separator, but I have had the TracKey since they became available, and no issues without a separator.

Necrothread and all that but have you heard the TracKey for Boss and GT has been discontinued?

Edit: The important part is that the dealer can no longer re-load your TracKey tune for you. If you need to reload your tune, you gotta send your PCM to Ford Performance!

Note, it's no big deal to replace your key though. Here's my source:

I finally went the TrackCal route on my 13 GT and am enjoying the tune, the idle is also great but I have had the boss H pipe for years now and the idle just makes those pipes come alive. Put on the JTL separator at the same time, no pinging. I find that I too also enjoy sitting at stop lights more then I used to....

What I found interesting about this is that I was the first in my area to have the local Roush authorized Ford dealer install the trackcal - I figured others would have had it done by now...

I think it's a much less common tune than you'd think. I love mine though.
