Switched from Roush Axleback to Bassani :/

Well haven't been around at all the last month since my house got drilled by the hurricane. But I'm back lol.

I had bought the Bassanis thinking they were still very loud like the roush while having a more clean, refined sound. Well they are more refined but they are super quiet. Honestly the higher the RPM the less deep volume you get. They are loudest at like 2k RPM. Maybe I just like that raspiness????

So anyone who likes loud and wants Bassanis, look elsewhere. I'd say they are about a 6/10 for loudness. With that'd said, the tone they put out is phenomenal.

Now is there anyway I can try to get some of that volume or rasp Into the Bassanis before I just switch back? Will removing resonators help THAT much or adding an after cat X???. Also not looking to ditch the cats but may have to come spring lol.

Sounds like my Kooks catback. Not that loud but a nice tone. Removing the resonators will only raise the volume slightly.

I have a few friends on the island that took a month to get there power back. It was clearly a disaster out there.

Removing the cats will provide that change in sound you are looking for. Increase in volume as well as adding some rasp to it.

I'd say they are definitely louder then the GT500s but have zero rasp. They have a sweet deep sound. With my roush I never heard the motor. With the Bassanis I can. I love them but need more.

Was trying not to tune the car so didn't want to remove the cats but I may have to. Didn't want to drop a ton of money.

How much rasp will removing the resonators add? I think I'll try that first

removing resonators will not add rasp just volume, going with cat deletes will increase rasp and that only when u get on it... ive had my pypes catback with jba o/r hpipe and cat deletes on for a week and they are too raspy for my taste, im going back to gt500s with jpc over axle pipes, and if thats not loud enough ill have to check out these bassanis or some borla s-types

Hey man, but if I like LOUD should I go with the ATAKs???? The bassanis are just way to quiet. I do like the way the Stypes sound buy afraid they will be too shuttle for me.

The ataks are higher pitched. I know that's not something that appeals to me. Almost like a louder better quality roush exhaust (though I know Any borla exhaust is infinitely better in quality than roush). The borla s types are louder and deeper sounding than the gt500s. I'd say 75% louder than them. It's just the best sounding exhaust for our cars...period.

what's funny is a few of my buddies with 5ohs got together and rated our gt500 exhausts at the time a 8/10.... Then we got the borla, and the gt500 went down to a 2/10. Serious. Borla is at a 9.5/10.

No. But here's the video that made me go with this setup. Same exhaust as mine.

I'm so stumped!! I heard someone say that the ATAKs are like the Roush in a sense that if you start removing resonators and cats they will sound like crap. That's why I changed from the Roush.

My current plan is to play with the Bassanis and see if I can liven them up. I'm taking out the resonators then I have a bassani after cat X pipe coming to see how that changes the Tone.

I like my Magnaflow Competition Catback and have their tru-x off road xpipe. And you won't sneak up on anyone that's for sure. And it's not really raspy. But it is loud

^ I always like the sound of magnas... but the drone that owners spoke of, talked me out of them.

The drone isn't bad at all. Maybe it's bc I have the quad tips. There is some drone at 2,000. But I don't cruise at that rpm. Only reason I went with them is I wanted the 2013 GT500 Style tips

The Bassani's have a pretty bad drone at 2000 too. Makes the Roush's look like that much better of an exhaust lol

I really wish you could hear my borla S types in person... I would let you drive it, hear it, rev it, so what you want with it. Are they pricier? Yes... But it's just like mgw is to shifters. You pay more, but it's oh soooooooo worth it.

Spend $40 and have your resonators removed You will get the sound that you are looking for.

A good percentage of us with GT500's have done it with the same intentions, and accomplished the desired sound.
