typesredline, did colin tune the car? I watched the fab of that twin set up, very impressive. He did some suspension work on mine. It's the red with white on his FB. Recommeded RI to a friend who has his vette there today for some suspension upgrades as well. RI is top notch. When its FI time, it'll be back to RI. Too many knee ops for me to spend that kind of time wrenching anymore.

Yep. Colin is hands down the best at what he does. I've known him for over 10 years now and NO ONE touches my cars but him.

Just a question? But what are you gonna do with 1000hp car?

Was being facetious. Wanted to know, general, what it would take to do it.

VMP made around 800 plus on their 2012 Boss with their 2.3 TVS kit. You can make that much power on a boss but I still wouldn't run (personally) more than 650 on the car consistently.

ok.....this thread is crazy with the numbers im seeing...(reading)
on Saturday I had mine on the dyno and it put down 596rwhp 483torque. set up
vortech v3, BAP,ID1000's.
in order to have reliable power 600 to wheels is enough don't you think.....after that its all about the fuel (E-85) to get u up there past 650 and 700 and 800....lol...insane.
I had my tune done by jon lund and he pretty much said so himself.

personally, anything over 600 with stock internals on a gt with nothing forged is trouble waiting to happen

am I missing something here?

I think 600whp is wayyy too much on stock stuff. My tuner and I agree and are on the ultra conservative side. 520whp is where we stopped. That's close to 625-650 at the crank. 600whp is over 700hp at the crank. That's a lot, esp for stock stuff. It seems like there's a lot of discrepancy with what some tuners/owners think is "safe" as far as hp to the wheels. It seems like the common and agreeable fact is that we can all "make" 600+ whp, but the question is, should we, esp if we're stock.

the loss is around 12% so 596rwhp is 670 to the crank. mines a stick.
I think im at a happy medium

I totally agree! Not just the engine, but your transmission and rear end will suffer. I don't know how much the stock half shafts can take either.
Jon Lund is a great tuner.

I have had no problems at all with 675 though I only go to the track a few times a year. A buddy has the stage 3 + pushes 645 --650 whp. The Coyote is an amazing engine. We have both had our superchargers for almost a year, no problems. You will need race gas at some point.
