Steeda frame rail & torque box brace

Is anyone running Steeda's three-point frame rail and torque box braces? Any thoughts on them, or pictures installed?

I thought about it and don't think it is worth it for a primarily street driven car. IMHO perhaps I'm wrong

I read the reviews on the Steeda website and they all seem quite favorable, even in a street application. I think the part that really isn't necessary on our chassis are the old "sub-frame" connectors that used to be requisite on the pre-05s. However it seems like we could use some reinforcement around the torque box area...

I'm looking to do all I can to tighten the car up, so if I get any improvement with these I'd like to give them a shot. Hopefully some here have some experience with them, or maybe some of the Steeda guys can chime in.

I'm installing my Koni Yellows + Steeda Sports + Fays2 Watts Link setup shortly so if I'm going to give this a shot I'd like to do it along with all that other stuff.

These would be just fine for street applications. I'd either go with these for the BMR subframe connectors.

So, I talked to Sam Strano today after I ordered my Fays2 and Steeda CC plates. He actually recommended the UMI subframe braces over the Steeda unit.

Did he happend to mention why that recommendation was made?

I can tell you Steeda specializes in Ford vehicles and especially the Mustang. You don't have to worry about our focus being shifted between different brands because we know our specialty.

They have an option that allows you to choose the Chrome Moly while ours is standard and provides a cheaper overall price.

We have engineered, tested, and manufactured this part to meet ISO 9001 standards so we know you are getting our best product.

Just wanted to provide some back up for you.

Thanks
TJ

I'll let Sam comment if he wants, but I think it's mostly a cost thing for my particular application.

That said, I'm passing on both at the moment. I'm going to install my Koni Yellows, Steeda Sport springs, Steeda HD strut mounts, and Fays2 watts link and re-evaluate the suspension setup after some seat time.

M4a1mustang,

No worries, we are always looking for real world feedback and value the opinion of Sam. You have some great choices lined up in your aresenal that you will be very happy with.

Let us know the seat time goes and if you need any additional support.

Thanks

Kinda strange, they only have two attachment points vs Steeda's 3. Steeda's kit is more compact, gusseted and more robust then the UMI which are probably 3 feet long. I can see some deflection in something that long with only 2 attachment points. Also Steeda's kit is made with 4130 Chrome Moly, the UMI kit you need to add $100 for it to be made in Chrome moly making it more expensive then the Steeda kit. Those are facts.

Well we'll sort this out later if I decide I need to do it after I put all the other stuff on.

Will these work with the Boss 302 exhaust?
