Steeda Billet Aluminum or Chrome-Moly Steel LCAs

Aside from look/weight of the Steeda billet aluminum and chrome-moly steel LCAs (both with urethane bushings), is there going to be any performance benefit choosing one over the other?

For that matter, how would the UMI tubular steel LCAs compare? Not to worried about the price differential, I just want to make sure if decide to pay more I am getting more in return.

Sorry if this is a question, I've been out of the Mustang world for a while and have searched around but need a bit of clarification.

The main benefit from adding LCA's is the bushings, so the billet version just gives a bit more bling. If you want to get billets, there are cheaper options out there like BBR and J&M.

I went with Steeda billets, but found a nice deal on a NIB pair for under $200.

That's what I figured, I just needed some clarification before I pulled the trigger. Thanks!

Don't itch too hard. I sell both UMI and Steeda. And I can tell you the differeces between them and the similarities too. And you have no worries about slant because I do sell both. Doesn't much matter to me which you buy, as long as it's the best for your situation or wants. In other words, you need not worry about me saying UMI over Steeda because I don't carry the other brand.

Further, there are a number of options from both companies. Steeda Billets come two different ways, UMI arms come a lot of different ways (various ends and adjustment types).

Call me. This is what I do....

I was looking at the J&M bars and they have a pretty slick looking solution to the binding issue of solid urethane bushings. They have a 3 piece bushing that has a ball shaped middle bushing with socket shaped outer pieces that allow for twist as the car corners just like a spherical rod end and the urethane keeps the harshness down. Then for cars with more HP they have a similar setup with a steel ball for the center with urethane cups that will take more power. They offer these bushing setups in both aluminum bars and chrome-moly. http://www.hotpart.com/shop/index.ph...duct_list&c=69

*sigh* I already placed an order for the Steeda chrome-moly LCAs. Thanks for the replies, though, guys. I will see if these do the trick.

No need to sigh my friend, you will be happy with what you bought. I'm a big Steeda fan and never had a problem. I had the billet on my '05 and the aluminum on my '97, and they did what they say they do.

Yeah, it's all good. I was a big Steeda fan with my '03 GT, so I'm sure I'll be happy.

No worried, but next time if you have questions... call me. I prefer LCA's that have some of joint that allows articulation vs. poly/poly types, and that's stuff I'm happy to go over with folks. I'm a small business, not a huge website or sales guys on a lot of forums. It's just me and I still do it the old fashioned way, by answering questions.

Next time give me a yell, I'd like to do what I can to earn your business (even if it means telling you not to buy something if it's not appropriate).

Sam, I'm pretty sure I'll be in touch with you in the future. A Z friend of mine (Kirk) was talking about this guy "Sam" he knows and I only put two and two together until after I placed my order.

Lol, yeah, I think he sold his 350Z racer to get his 370Z Roadster.

Sometime over the winter I'll probably give you a call to figure out a good streetable, trackable (road course AND drag strip) setup for a daily driver.
