SR braided clutch fluid line installed

In my 2012 gt,took 1/2 hour on a lift with removing the trans mount to pry the trans a little to get a hand in there connecting the line to it.You have to use your hand the first 100 times up and down on the clutch to bleed it,then when you start to get a pedal you can use your foot for another 100 plus pumps! But its all worth it my friends, best 60 dollars i ever spent. The pedal is slightely stiffer in a positive way (not harder on your leg)the car shifts much much smoother upshifting and down, the high rpm lock out is gone, and the clutch engages at the same point every time,no more letting up until you think its fully engaged and the rest of the way up on the pedal you get that extra lunge (its gone forever). There is also more free play at the top of the clutch pedal. Its a different feeling that may take a little getting used to because its feels different then what your used to with the stock line. But this is the way its supposed to feel!!!BTW i got it from AM for 59.99 (free shipping).

Did you have the clutch helper spring in? I have the track pack which apparently has the boss low expansion lines, and I took that spring out. Feels pretty good, much lighter than my old 6 puck clutch with SS line in my genesis, but still solid. I'd like to get some SS lines but I'm not sure how much of an upgrade they'll be to the "low expansion" ones.

SWEET! Glad it worked out as this is the next mod I'm doing along with a fluid change to Royal Purple Synchromax.

I thought those low expansion lines were for the brakes only... I had those "boss 302" lines.. They were replaced with russel lines

I think you're right about it only being the brake lines.

Ponywars,

Replacing the stock clutch line with any branded braided clutch line is a must, IMO. The pedal feel is a lot better when cruising, but it's a night and day difference when racing. For now on, this will be my first upgrade for any hydraulic clutch car.

I'm glad you're enjoying the benefits too. Thanks for the shout out to AM!

Music to my ears. I've been waiting for a deal on a clutch line and not only is this one priced nice, it's currently on sale! Just picked one up for $46.99 with forum discount.

It was $49.99 yesterday so maybe it was a short sale or maybe a glitch and/or upcoming sale. Somebody on here got SR springs for $99 a week or two early IIRC before they want on sale last Black Friday.

Whats the difference other than price between a braided clutch line and the ford racing clutch line? Wouldnt the ford racing clutch line be stiffer and stronger since it uses metal hard line up until the braided point? I was always curious about the difference.

There's no difference in performance from the SR braided clutch line to the Ford Racing upgraded clutch line. We've uses both clutch lines and they've performed flawlessly under extreme racing conditions! Either is an excellent upgrade from stock IMO.

Hope this helps clarify things!

Just installed the SR fluid clutch line not to long ago and I change the tranny fluid to Royal Purple Synchromax and let me tell you the clutch pedal feels 10x better and shifting is buttery smooth. I mean the MGW made things way better than stock and changing the clutch line and tranny fluid was like the icing on the cake! Install of the clutch line was simple and I did everything from the top of the engine. The most annoying part was having to pump the clutch pedal so much.

Awesome, I was wondering how accessible it was. Will do this weekend and already have the MGW and clutch extender.
