sct x3- can it pull CEL codes from any OBD2?

My daily driver (non mustang) has a flashing check engine light....the SCT X3 has an option to show codes ...but will this only work on the Mustang?

Thanks for any info...

Will only work on the mustang. Different for of encryption on other vehicle. Flashing cell in most cases is a missfire. Is the car shaking or feel underpowered?

I have an sct x3 for my 11. I can't adjust anything on other cars but I can read codes. I was able to pull codes for my dads 01 f150.

That's a Ford so it should be the same encryption. I was assuming the op had a different brand car..

I made it home! The car was running normally but I do a lot of driving on busy freeways and breaking down at some points on my commute would mean almost certain death... so I get freaked out.

I stopped by a repair shop and they were kind enough to read the code for free. It was a "random misfire"/catalytic converter inefficiency code. The mechanic cleared the code and suggested that I keep an eye on it...whhich is what I'll do. I need to keep that car running but every extra penny it costs me is one fewer penny that I can budget towards the Mustang!

Thanks to you both...I really appreciate the input.

I may give the X3 a whirl. My "other than Mustang"/winter car is a Mazda which was partially owned by Ford at the time... so it might work. I was more worried about cooking the mazda's ECU or the X3 itself... but that's probably not likely, right?

I've used my SCT X3 many times on my 2002 Explorer and 2010 Fusion to pull and delete codes. It will work on any Ford OBD11 vehicle.

Thanks, I've always wondered about this.
