Roush tvs 2300 575hp blower

I'm getting my blower installed tomorrow and will be using the roush calibrated tune for the first month to see if i like the power or if its lack thereof. Those that have this or the 525-540 roush kit,...did you prefer their safe tune for warranty purposes(warranty purchased through roush for $375 3 yr/36k mile) or did you say screw it and do a dyno tune or mail order tune?

2012 Mustang GT auto. Roush TVS stock pulley
I went with a mail order tune from VMP. Checked the tune on the dyno and it was spot on. 555HP 505 torque.

You have any issues arise from the vmp tune?

Those are great numbers, do you have a dyno sheet you can post?
Future sc owner looking at several brands.
Thanks.

I personally would never use a mail order tune on boosted car. I find they are lazy, stupid safe and if there is something wrong with your car they won't find it till you break something. A bad injector, a low output alternator, a weak fuel pump, a plugged filter etc. Any of these things can cause you to loose a motor and won't be found with a mail order tune. Get your install done and then take it to a good reliable tuner with real experience and you're much more likely to live happily ever after.

Justin from VMP has the tunes nailed down on the Roushchargers. Shoot his wife runs high 9's with their Rouscharged Mustang.

After researching vmp and others all day and night and seeing the pros and cons I decided to wait a bit. My tuner at extreme performance in Goodyear az is waiting for the all the kinks to be worked out with the software before he starts tuning the 5.0s. He is very thorough and meticulous,...which I love and appreciate. So I'm gonna be sporting the badazz roush calibration lol for a month then install my stainless works LT and aluminum driveshaft when my tuner is ready.

What are the life expectancies of these motor with moderate/safe boost and tune??

I have really been considering going the FI route but don't want the life of the engine to be a 1/3 of Its stock life

If Roush offers the 3/36 warranty on them then it's pretty safe to say its good for at least that long for sure. On a boosted car it will all depend on how you drive it though. Drive the **** out of it every day and it won't last long. Neither will the rest of the car though.

Copy that. My buddy has an 04 cobra e85, 2.8l sc and a aggressive tune. 693whp. He drives it a couple days a week and only gets on it at the track. Since doing these mods over a year ago his powertrain has been fine. Our other friend did the same mods to his 03 cobra and drove the heck out of it! Every stoplight was a race for him,...his blew. Now he drives an 06 goat.

I Hear ya. That's why I barely drive the thing. I drive the hell out of mine so I don't take it out very often. The less I'm in it, the longer it will last. Lol

Yeah man, I don't wanna be paying for a car that may blow up while I'm enjoying it lol. I know any car can at any time but I'll increase my odds 10 fold.

NA these motors should last a long time even getting beat on. My fox took a pounding and never died.

I pretty easy on the car, maybe 1-2 pulls getting on it every time I drive. Dont think that's too bad...

Every auto out there is susceptible to engine damage if you drive it hard and fast,...not just supercharged engines. The chance rises for modded engines I'm sure though.
