Roush CAI questions

I'm just about to do the first mod to my 2011 GT, Roush Axlebacks, so I'm already thinking about what's next. Right now I'm considering the Roush CAI, but I've checked the forum and didn't find too much info.

It seems like other CAIs are more popular, but I kinda like the idea of using mostly Roush parts... My wife drives the Mustang as well, so I'm not really shopping for huge performance gains. Paired with the Roush Axlebacks, what do you think I'm looking at?

Also, will sound increase as well? Maybe that's a silly question, but I've had CAIs on some other cars that had stock mufflers and the engine sound changed dramatically... I honestly don't know, so I'm just asking...

Thanks in advance!

Don't waste your $. The roush still uses the factory air intake tube, so your paying $200 for a filter pretty much. If you're not going to tune go with the AirRaid. With the axel backs the tone will get a little deeper and you'll hear the whooshing of the CAI when you go WOT. Good thing about the AirRaid, you can use it with and without tune.

Agreed air raid is the way to go in ur case or another option their is a ford racing kit that with dealer install carries warranty.

Yeah, checking the Air Raid out now... Looks good.

I need my CAI to be usuable without a tune and the air Raid seems to fit that bill.
It seems to sound pretty good too, huh?

Um... I'm not sure what the shipping to Japan would cost.

you guys should really do some research!!! the intakes are all basically the same power wise. 8hp-10hp. It's all in the tune!!!!! the intake without a tune is a waste money wise.. so regardless if it's a $200 intake or a $365 intake they are the same. So if your not going to get a tune than just buy a K&N drop in filter.

That being said I have the roush intake and although I didn't pay for it it does the job. My car traps 118+ and well the intake is not a problem for me.

Sellin it cause my buddy traded in his '11 and took the exhaust/CAI off and selling the tuner. I bought the CAI/tuner from him but the car is going to be barely be used until next season so didn't see the point in tuning and risking a possible warranty issue when I won't enjoy it much all winter. Plus I may want a JLT carbon, not sure yet, I just took it from him right away. Which is the favorite?

They both make same power so really comes down to which one u rather. The steeda looks the best but the JLT is Best bang for buck. As far as the JLT carbon I've heard a few guys complain about finish on the tube cracking then again others love the carbon JLT. Basically comes down to personal preference.

Really don't know lol. But i think it's a waste to just sit in my house all winter when someone in better weather can enjoy it. It was purchased from steeda in August, have the receipts.

I'm not too interested in a tune right now, so maybe a K&N would be enough? Does it improve fuel economy?
No "whoosh" at WOT though, right?
