I have to admit I was a bit scared, thought maybe it would be too loud or raspy.. but it's perfect. I love all the burbling and crackles.. unfortunately it has led to lower mpg because I just HAVE to keep rev-matching and accelerating to hear that crackling Haha

I installed mine a few months back and love them. They're knarly and raspy when you want 'em to be and just cruizin' along nice an' mellow.

I've seen guys here really like the GT500's though and that was an option for me but after seeing the chat and they're slightly louder than stock, I leaned towards the R's. We are fortunate to have the Black Top Nationals here in Wichita so last Summer I made it a point to stop by the Roush Semi and they happened to have an S3. The guy threw me the keys and said "start it up". I rev'd it a few times to here the exhaust and thought that this car has to have 'additional' stuff, like headers or bigger pipes but then the guys said "no, that's just the axle backs". That sold me!!!

I was too. Was assured by others it would not be too loud. I've only heard it a little going down the road when hubby drove it to work because a coworker wanted to hear them. Need to get him to drive it some more so I can hear more of it. I like the pops and crackles, but not the burbling so much. Ahhhh, revs.

I have them on my convertible. Normal driving you can chat still with the top down. You still have to speak up a little mostly from the wind. If you get on it to pass etc. You might as well wait a second. Talking is pretty much impossible. As for my opinion...I LOVE them. Easy install and it's been my favorite mod.

I couldn't be happier with mine. Downshifting is music to the ears!

Installed mine last night...it was a breeze! Had a little bit of a hard time getting them aligned properly but other than that...best money spent so far!

After listening to a lot of clips and debating between Borla S types or Roush, I finally pulled the trigger and got the Roush! I can't wait to install these on my car!

If you like loud and obnoxious, like a muscle car should sound, you'll love it!

I have recorded it on my phone, but it really doesn't do any justice at all. Wanted to show the guys at work.
It sounds insane. Especially at start-up.

It's down to Roush or Borla for me.

Borla is slowly losing because of how much the tips stick out of the rear valance. Not sure I could live with that.

I'll be switching to the GT500 Borla S Types soon, and will sell my Roush axlebacks for a fair price.

Why are you making the switch? Just curious.

You have a 12? The tips are perfect. And the sound, IMO (just opinion), esp in catback form, sounds far better than the roush. I debated the same for a while. But the sound is richer, more mature, and complete. And the quality can't be beat. I remember when roush had rust through issues. It's probably all fixed now, but those were the reasons why I went with the borla catback. It's the best aspect of my car, along with MGW.

I'm swapping my boss/cs valance for the GT500 so I need quad tips to fill those holes. Also when I add the 2.9L Whipple, the Roush axle backs will be too harsh and raspy. I'm in Carmel, so just let me know when you're ready to swap em out.

I think you're seeing the 11-14 version (not 13-14 version) on a 13-14. The 11-14s look pretty flush on a 11-12, no? I personally prefer them sticking out some.
