Resonator delete on 5.0
Hi Guys,
Has any one did just the resonator delete (with the stock muffler) to the 5.0? How is the sound, did it increased rasp or drone?

I took mine off when I added the cat-back Magnaflow exhaust. It was droning like you won't believe. It got better when the Boss side exhaust went on but there is still some drone. I just try to stay out of that RPM range. Magnaflow's are known for drone so it might not be the resonator.

Hi, I know that is the main question at the beginning of the thread, but I cannot help here, sorry. I did the resonator delete after I installed GT500 SVT mufflers. I can tell you that this combination is an inexpensive way to go, with no drone, and great sound.

I don't know first hand but to help answer the OP's question, I was reading on another forum about someone who did do a resonator delete. He said it got a little raspy in the higher RPMs and there was drone on the highway. Also he said the increase in volume wasn't as much as he thought it would be with the stock mufflers.

With some mufflers I think it does increase rasp. But for the exception of the GT500 mufflers it does not produce rasp. But regarding what the OP said, I am not sure if the stock mufflers will produce rasp with resonators removed.
