Radiator upgrades

So I've been doing some research the last couple days because I've heard alot of different things from alot of different sources. For people with 11-12 GT's, there are 2 options for upgrading your radiator. The first upgrade would be upgrading to the stock Boss 302 radiator. Ford Racing part number M-8005-MBR. It's a pretty solid radiator but I've read that it doesn't really do justice on the track when the weather gets above 85-90 degrees plus it has plastic ends. The price is $770. Now, the second upgrade is Ford Racing part number M-8005-MGT. It's the radiator used on the FR500S and Boss 302S. It's an even better upgrade because it's a fully aluminum unit. It's price is $749. I hope this helps everyone that has been confused about this topic.

I've been looking into this, as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe CSF makes an OEM style plastic tanks and aluminum core unit(Part No. 3468) and a high performance all aluminum tanks and core unit(Part No. 7037) that fits both the '11-'12 GT and V6. Steeda has the high performance one listed...

My question is will the FRPP Boss 302 Engine Oil Cooler be able to be attached to other radiators other than the stock and FRPP Boss 302 radiators?

Personal preference, I'd go with a Ford Racing product. The CSF radiator has plastic tanks and like I said in my initial post, the plastic tanks don't hold up as well in hot temps. If you're going for a radiator upgrade and are gonna drive the car the way it's supposed to be driven then I'd get the radiator used on the Boss 302S. It's full aluminum and will hold up alot better in hot temps. I know there's a couple hundred dollars difference but when it comes to keeping the engine cool, I'd always opt to spend the extra money. I see on your current mods list that you already have the engine oil cooler. An upgraded radiator would only help cool your engine down even more.

Now, to answer your question. If you decide on the CSF radiator, I would call Steeda before buying it to make sure that the engine oil cooler will fit to it otherwise you just wasted over $400. Hope this helps.

I put a mishimoto in mine. Very impressed with the quality and price compared to their competitors. Not sure what's available for the newer ones. Worth checking out.

Ya, I looked at it again after re-reading your post. So I guess it comes down to personal preference and also like I said, call Steeda first if you decide on the CSF to make sure the oil cooler will work with it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I've got a Mishimoto as well -- working fine so far, definitely cut-rate pricing compared to the FRPP units.

Latemodel Restoration prices are much better, $450 Boss, $660 FRPP.

Much better pricing. I was pulling my stuff off the FRPP site just to make sure I had the part numbers right.

Well, I verified whether these cooler running, replacement radiators will work with the FRPP Engine Oil Cooler... and it's a yes. I was originally going for the Boss 302 radiator(easy choice), but due to CSF offering an all-aluminum unit at a very good street price I have to give it a go.

UPDATE: Well, you have been a big help throughout my ordeal with choosing performance parts for the GT. I've been out of the loop for quite some time, so thanks. On the radiator upgrade choices, I've been slow to make a decision. I rather go with the all-aluminum(core & tanks) radiator, so the FRPP part# M-8005-MGT should work with the FRPP Boss 302 Engine Oil Cooler... then I noticed something. Be Cool Radiators part# 60205 is quite similar to the FRPP offering. As a matter of fact, I think it's the exact same thing!

After my driveshaft and clutch kit arrive, I'll be getting one of these... depending on the better price+shipping.

I'm glad to be of service. I see you're going with the McLeod RST kit. Good choice in my mind. Also, I see you decided on DSS for your driveshaft. Let me know how that works out for you. I've heard mixed reviews.
