Opinions on these 2 X-pipes....

Hey guys, getting back into the groove of normal life after this hurricane. I am switching over to a Borla ATAK cat back but also had a Bassani X pipe waiting to go on. So now I have the Bassani and Borla X (both after-cat). Does anyone know if there are any big differences in the 2 like sound maybe!? Or which you would go with??

I really like the design of the Bassani with the actual X design versus the 2 pipes coming together with a hole cut in the middle (which the borla seems to be)

Any opinions would be awesome!

Bassani looks better, what prompted you to get the Bassani in the first place? Has that thought process changed?
I kinda like the MRT H pipe after cat, but I like the mellow old school sound.

Its not going on a V6. Do V8s ever sound ricey? Please explain, I don't really understand.

I got the bassani because I've had them on other mustangs and the fit/finish is awesome. I also have always liked their design over the others on the market. It was originally going on with my Roush axlebacks but that changed...

I heard bassanis, and to me they sound like crap. The best on the market are Kooks or Stainless works, then borla would be next best. Check out stainless works. I guarantee you will be impressed.

Can't really see how two pipes of the same crossover design can really sound that different on the same car. I had a magma flow and then a no name x on my GTO and they both sounded identical, though they both looked different.

I think i'm going to install the axle back myself. Then have the over axle pipes done, since u pretty much need a lift. Then do the Bassani X and maybe change to the Borla. I like doing the exhaust mods piece at a time to hear the change in sounds. Although suttle, I think its cool to see how certain parts change up the tone.

I agree, doubt there will be much sound difference between the two x-pipes. They may look slightly different on the outside. But still are basically the same. Major sound changers are between x-pipe and h-pipe. And converters or no converters.

I have gt500 axle backs, will be cutting out the res this week and welding in 3inch in place.then a pypes 3 inch cat back x pipe. For 135 dollars i think its the best deal on an x pipe.Bolts up to the stock cats and has to be welded in the rear(3inch down to 2.75)Every review i have read has been positive about them.

You must be out of your mind. Bassani is nothing near "ricer-ish." I have bassani catback with SW LTs.

Agreed. Have the bassani axleback now. The only reason I'm selling it is cause it wasnt loud enough for my tastes but sounded great.

I've watched many many videos and have heard many in person and, to me, bassani sucks. Too many other good brands to go with out there. They are just too high pitched and raspy for my taste. Again, this is my opinion. I just think borla, stainless works an kooks are the way to go.

Prime example of the weak bassani sound:

In the drive by, bassani sounds like a fart can.

Ok, did a quick search but couldn't find just the stainless works catback. This vid is the full exhaust (headers, catted x pipe, catback retro chambered). This is a great sounding exhaust.

There is the problem. You're somehow comparing mufflers to an x-pipe.

Bassani is the deepest sounding exhaust I've heard for these cars. U can feel the bass. Just wasnt loud enough. The SW axle back isn't even mufflers, its basically pipes with resonators in them. For the cost, not worth it to me. Their headers on the other hand are 2nd to none and where most of that sound comes from.
