Right after I listened and watched your video, started to look up prices for the Borla S. Thanks for helping me decide.
O yeah that a hell of a car you have there, and **** that sounds GOOD.

No problem Kyle . If there is ANY regret I have, it's not springing for these last year when I was mulling over the borlas vs the gt500s. I chose the gt500s to save on dough. I thought the gt500s were good, which they are... But these borlas, telling you, something else. It blows the gt500s away in looks and sound.

I personally am not a fan of the roush axlebacks... It's a little too raspy and high pitched for me. Also heard about quality issues, so that's what turned me away. The borlas have no rust probability ever....plus they're pretty much lifetime warranty.

I agree... Thank you. I thought the single walled slash cut gt500s looked good, then I saw these in person, I was sold instantly. It's a more mature, refined look, if you will.

Nice job lining them up, I still cant get the SW to sit higher near the cutouts, may have to have a shop try or hell, just get some ATAKS, lol. Borla rocks!
I liked the ataks too, but it seemed a little too raspy and high toned for me... Almost like a borla roush.

Thank you Dino. I just came back from driving her 50 miles. Pure bliss. Now I know I REALLY love these mufflers. They are perfect. Will I want something a bit louder? Maybe... But I think something too loud will border on annoying. Right now, these are a GOOD loud...not an annoying loud. They're a "get out of my way, I will eat you up" loud.

And I know I said it before, but I will say it again....those 4.5" tips are dead sexy.

I need to take more vids when I drive it again, not tomorrow since it's rain all day, maybe Friday or the weekend.

Update, I called borla about drilling weep holes. I talked to Greg Weiss... Great guy. Holes are not necessary esp since all SS, but doesn't hurt. Besides, I read from some forums that the water (from condensation) buildup can mess up the sound sometimes. So, I just have to drill a 1/16 hole in the flat part of the muffler facing the front of the car. I will do that this weekend,

It's funny how in life you get what you pay for.

Glad you're enjoying your new exhaust. Your comments mimic mine and are exactly the justification of why I spent double simply for the Borla name over anything else.

The better sound and performance is a given when going with trusted brands.

I would have to agree 100%. I really wish I had these on earlier this year, or last year when I first sprung for the GT500's. These are SO worth the extra dough. I think it doesn't need to be louder... it's just perfect. All I have to do is drill weep holes on each, per Borla instructions, esp since I will drive it some in this cold weather. Gotta love Borla quality and research....

Edit: 3rd time driving her with these new pipes. They sound oh so good. It's 40 degrees out right now, but I have my windows down to almost 1/2way. Gotta hear them. Also am meeting some buddies at lunch today. They all wanna hear it and see it

What's up man? Haven't seen you around in a while Dan. You know it's because of you why I have my favorite toy car so far right ? . How's your pony? I don't miss my z at all....over a year ago now.

Update:

I forgot to state that I drilled the weep holes per borlas recommendation. Remember this is only after driving it a total of 3 times. I was surprised at how much water came out from each side! Those of you with borlas remember to drill the weep holes. It will affect the sound. No rust, like roushs, since full SS. But just sound will get affected.

And here's my son still enamored and amazed at the size of those beautiful SS tips...just like me

Been good, traveling a lot lately so I haven't been on much.

I'm still loving the 'stang-- been a fantastic car that has made me completely forget about the Z.

Got some Borla ATAKs on mine, contemplating a drop as well. You still enjoying the suspension setup you're running?

JC, here's more info for the weep holes. Sounds like every muffler should have one, esp if you drive in colder temps where engine/exhaust temps don't get a chance to get high enough to evaporate the liquid.

The instructions came straight from Borla. I called them directly because I heard that weep holes were needed in all mufflers, so I wanted to confirm directly from them. All stainless steel so no worries about corrosion.

Anyways, here is the pdf Borla (Greg Weiss) sent me. I drilled as instructed, 1/16" hole about 1/8" up from the centerline of the muffler rear flat face (facing the front of car). I was suprised at how much water came out (you saw my pic).

They say if no hole, the sound quality will be affected because the muffler chamber will have water in there, so the acoustics get affected.
