My mods list , what do you think

Hi all

I just wanted to share my mods list with you , thought you will help improving it , i didnt get my mustang yet but since im in kuwait and shipping costs sucks , and ill buy the mustang from the US already , ive decided to buy the mods all together and ship them with the car .

So here's the list
Short shifter : MGW
Lowering kit : dont know what to go with but i dont want to lower it much , 1 to 1.5 is enough and i want a good ride
CAI : airaid vs steeda
IM : boss
Headers : thinking about kooks but not sure
Exhaust : dont know what to go with
Mufflers : varex , remote controlled mufflers so that i can turn them from loud to silent , it may sound odd but its illegal to have a loud car in kuwait so this is my solution
Tuner : sct itsx
And thinking about LCA , UCA , pinhard bar , one piece drive shaft , i dont know if im going to need them
Gears : it will already have a 3.73 so i dont think ill need to change that

And i have a question about tuning , how accurate is the bama custom tune and is it better to tune it at the dino here after installing all mods ?

I want to make as much HP as i can N/A.

Thats it for my list , any thing you think i should add , any comment , im open for suggestions

P.S: i want to make a complete list that i dont have to add anything later on , except a supercharger and some wheels but thats coming later

Thanks all

I have heard awesome stuff about AED custom tunes and everyone raves about Shaun's service. As far as exhaust I would do Kooks headers, catted x pipe, JPC OTA's. I would look at FRPP tubular LCA's since you can get a good deal from Tousley and Whiteline UCA or Steeda. And for lowering springs you have a ton of choices but I would also select FRPP P springs since you'll get a 1" front and 1.5" rear drop. When it comes to tuning I think it's best to data log over a mailed tune or dyno but I could be wrong.

Ive been hearing great things about the kooks so that is probably my choice , as for lca and uca ill look them up now , what about the pinhard bar ? Needed or not ?
1 and 1.5 lowering sounds great , just what i have in mind
"When it comes to tuning I think it's best to data log over a mailed tune or dyno but I could be wrong" i didnt understand that can you explain ? , im sorry but english is my second language lol

If I understand correctly there seem to be three different ways of tuning. The mail ones that have been made and tested one a car and then they send them on to whoever buys them, probably not the best thing since each engine is going to be a little different. Next would be a dyno tune which is done on a dyno, pretty self explanatory. The last would be data logging which I believe is done with a computer plugged into the car and you do several different pulls on the street so that the car is dialed in in real world situations rather then just on a dyno.
Also for the panhard bar, I would contact a vendor, possibly Steeda or Kenny Brown. I have read that people have lowered their cars and the pinion angle is fine, others are go ahead and do the adjustable PHB. I think you might have to get relocation brackets though once you lower the car so that the LCA's are parallel or slightly perpendicular to the ground.

An adjustable panhard bar is necessary to center the rear once you lower it.

How bad are the mail tunes ? Or how do they perform compared to dyno tunes . Cuz dynos here arent cheap , and im getting a tuner either way .

If you are going to lower the car with springs I have heard that you should also replace the struts to get the maximum handling benefit. I am in a similar position to you - don't have my car yet ( ordered yesterday ). But I have been researching and have heard the best results are coming from this setup from Sam Strano:

http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...225&ModelID=35

Here is a link to the thread where springs/struts are discussed:

Congrats and good luck!

Not a bad list! I will say that if you go with Kooks Headers, then it has to go with one of their mid pipes... catted x or h pipe... off-road x or h pipe... even Boss 302 catted or off-road pipe can be used with the headers. You can go with over axle pipes and mufflers of your choice, but Kooks makes them, as well.

Whats best to go with ? And whats the diameter of their H , X pipes and over axle pipes ?

It may be a dump question but i dont know much about exhausts . It contains a three main parts , headers , H or X pipes , and over axle pipes or cat back exhaust right ?

OP, you have a good start with your mod list. Now to squash any confusion on your suspension. First let me start by stating no one mustang is the same and with this being said, you in fact may NOT need an Adj. PHB. We lowered our 13 Boss 1.6" and did not need an Adj. PHB. We've done hundreds of springs, some cars needed a PHB and many didn't. Now before I can recommend any suspension parts I need to know what you plan to do with your car. If you plan to go down the dragstrip often with street driving I'd recommend BMR springs. The spring rates on the BMR are suitable for this kind of driving however, they're not the best if you plan road course or autox your car. I really like Hotchkis and H&R springs, but this is opinion. What one suspension setup that works for one person may not another. The UCA I higly suggest is Whiteline, I've found these to be the quietest of all we've installed. For Headers I really like Stainless Works and every person I know that has them or has had them have no issues. I've had these on my personal cars and can tell you the quality is amazing. However, I've heard many good things about Kooks and ARH. Again, its preference as all the top name companies will offer pretty much the same increase in performance. For CAI, again all offer the same amount of performance gain. I for one enjoy JLT and have had zero issues with either my F/I applications or N/A applications. I have customers running AEM CAI, Airaid and JLT, they all offer the same gains.
MGW, is a great choice! As far as tuning goes, I always recommend Lund tunes, I've ran plenty of different tunes and can tell you I've enjoyed both Brenspeed and Lund. Lund's customer has increased tenfold with their new tech site. Brenspeed's customer service has always been top notch.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. With you being in Kuwait, I'd suggest getting the PHB only because the pain you might go through to ship one later if needed. If I can help you out at all, please let me know. Thanks!

Jason

As for the springs , i want something that offers good ride , but yet great for drag racing , cuz its my DD , i just want to lower it cuz it looks better , and it performs better on road

Do i need both UCA and LCA ?

Ive chosen Kooks headers cuz ive heard that they are a bit shorter than any long headers .

Im new to this stuff so bare with me lol
What kind tunes do they offer ? Do you suggest i dyno tune it in kuwait after installing all the stuff or buy a tune from the us ?

Thanks very much jason , appreciate your help
