Smile My first JLT product: a black JLT oil separator

I finally got a passenger-side JLT oil separator in my fat sausage fingers, and quickly installed it

Got it from a fellow forum member ("Tight Lines") and it was a great transaction.

Looking forward to seeing how much accumulation I get in there.

Car just turned over 5500 miles, so it's a nice round number to keep track from

Install was quick, less than 5 minutes, without removing the engine cover (I just lifted up on it a little so I could see the end of the hose). I did almost burn myself on some hot pipe under there, so I'm glad I didn't do it by feel alone, and that I did look under there for the fitting.

Of course, I took pics

Sweet. I initially got the steeda one but it requires you to cut your stock hose (hope you don't mess up huh) . So I immediately sent it back and got the plug & go JLT. The JLT is a much better choice and I'm A Steeda guy. You'll be very pleased with your product.

Way to go Gabe. JLT's workmanship is second to none.
The installation is so easy it's not even funny.
Excellent purchase Gabe.------Bill

Thanks guys.
Gonna put about 70 miles on the car today - don't expect to see anything in there, but you know I'll check, lol

Lol, I know, I had a BT catch can on my Charger, but being unemployed I had to wait for the right deal to come along.

Gabe, glad everything worked out. It was a pleasure working with you.

The harder you are on your car the more oil you will see. Just wanted to let you know in case you are like me and don't drive it to hard. One other thing, the colder it gets, the more moisture you may find in the separator. It may not get hot enough to burn off the moisture, which will make it look like chocolate milk and you may need to empty more. This goes for everybody with a separator in a cold climate. It may be over kill but I set a reminder on my phone to alert me once a month to empty and clean.

I bought both the driver and passenger side oil separators. I've put about 900 miles since installing them, primarily street driven miles with 1 autox event. Filled the passenger side can about 3/4 of the way in that time and didn't put a single drop into the driver's side. It's amazing how much oil ends up in the intake manifold.

So save the $120 and just buy the passenger side.

Thanks Paul.
I knew about the milky-looking stuff that can end up in the can during the winter months, but good thing you mentioned it in case others were not aware.

I put about 90 miles on the car today but didn't look in there since it was hot.
I'll give it more time and check it.

Thanks again for the deal, it was a pleasure on this end also.

Thanks ... the "clean look under the hood" is what drew me to the JLT set-up

Thanks, that's great to know about the driver side, guess I won't be looking for one anytime soon ... lol
