Lowering Springs on a 5.0?
I was wondering if anybody has put springs on their 5.0 yet?
I was thinking about using Eibach Sportlines, with the 1.5-2.0 inch drop. I looked at other manufacturers including FRPP, but I don't think a 1.5" drop would be worth the effort. I almost ordered a set from Jegs, but decided to check Eibach's website to compare the part number. Every site I look at has the 2005-2010 springs, but I figured they where the same for the 11. Eibach's site says otherwise. They have a new part number for 2011, but it say's nothing except "in development".
Since the 5.0 has more power and is a little heavier, should I wait for springs that are made specifically for the 5.0, or will the 05-10 springs be ok? Also, do you guys think springs only will be fine, or should I get new struts and camber adjusters too?

I have FRPP's with 1.5" drop (M-5300K). I think it was worth the effort. Bare in mind the angles these photos are taken at are looking slightly up into the wheel wells so any slight wheel gap is more pronounced. Side on it looks perfect. You would definitely need new shocks struts and caster camber kit with a larger drop.
I read in several places that the FRPP springs are the same as the Eibach springs, just sold under the FRPP name. As for 2010+ springs, companies like H&R have just come out with 2010-2011 specific springs, I'm not entirely sure the difference other than a slightly greater drop.

Not sure about the 5.0 but I put 2010 4.0 specific springs on my 2011 3.7 and it dropped it exactly the same amount as when I used them on a 2010 I stayed with stock shocks&struts no camber bolts needed in front to get back to factory specs and the look is completely even with just at 1" drop in front and 2" in back on level ground you can get 1 finger in between any side wheel well and thats it Good luck though on whatever you choose and congrats on your 5.0

Sorry for the off topic but I just pasted your pics in a discussion about Kona paint in the 2010+ forum.
****... that thing looks incredible.
Please tell us you didn't mess with the hue in photoshop!

I will admit a slight editing, but I assure you it was a tiny adjustment to the hue. I daily drive it in clear blue Florida skies and the color is true. The color really comes alive in the sun.

I was asked to instruct for a local group this weekend.
I am exhausted and will post more then just the pictures (VIDEOS ETC.) later Iam going to sleep.
Enjoy
P.s. the car is silly fast and the suspension I put on made me very happy today. minimal roll and it was crazy fast. running anyone down it was great.

I've had mine lowered as well, FRPP 1inch springs. The RTR wheels are on as well with wider tires back and tinted windows. As soon as i come back from Mexico i'll post pics.

Car looks great! I have been debating going with the Roush Front fascia/splitter or just going with the 2011 GT/CS lower fascia less the fogs. I hate the stock GT fascia Did you order yours with the Roush fascia (have the dealer add it before pick up) or add it yourself after you got the car?

I just installed the FRPP 1.5" drop springs tonight.
The car handles a lot better now and looks killer. The ride is a little bit rougher, but ya forget all about it when it's hugging the curves so well!

Did you upgrade your shocks/struts at the same time? How about an adjustable panhard bar? Curious what other people are doing.

I was thinking about a 1" drop before I got my car. Pictures with the Brembo pkg. made it look too high.
Now that I have the car, I think it looks better in person, just about right. Stock height keeps the gaps between the wheel opening and the tire consistent as well. No need to lower for me, maybe just 275/40's on the rear down the road.
Ride is a little rougher than I expected too, lowering will only amplify that. No thanks.
