Let's talk about 20's
I love the looks of 20 inch wheels on the new GTs. It seems to seal up the wheel/fender gaps nicely with no lowering. All of this being said, I know some people on here say that they have negative affect on the cars grip and handling.
What are your thoughts before I pull the trigger on 20s? As always thanks for your feedback. I am new to the hobby and appreciate all of the help here!

I'm running the Roush 20x9.5 with 275/35 all the way around. Only have a couple hundred miles on them but they ride great and I haven't noticed any negative effects vs. the factory Brembo wheels and tires. I'm still going to drop mine though ... I've already got the steeda ultralites and koni sports just need to install.

It's the total diameter of wheel plus tire that counts!
The 19" wheels are a nice compromise, although the staggered wheels of the SVT performance package option on the GT500 (19" fronts, 20" rears) look good. Here's a thread where someone put them on the '05-'09 version of the Mustang.

usually! it's the overall tire size is usually the same weather you have 18's,19's,or 20's! so yes the wheels and tires are usually the same it's just how you visually see it. You would look at it and think because you have a 18 that it is smaller but whe you have a 20 they are bigger but the overall diameter is the same because of tires!

Tire Rack is a good source of information about wheel and tire specs.

Buy 20" for the street. They do fill in the wheel wells nicely and dont effect your daily driving all that much.
If you like to track the car, or take it to the strip, a separate set would be worth the money. If you have the money you can have the best of both worlds and buy a set of 20" HRE's or some concave racing wheel at 2k a pop.
