Just installed Strano's Steeda sports and Koni STrt. struts and shocks

LMR has a good write-up that I followed on switching out the springs, struts, and shocks. It's not a bad job, maybe 2-3 hours taking your time. The rear is cake, takes less than 30-45 min. The front isn't hard, just has extra steps. I made one silly mistake and had to do the front twice. The GT500 strut mount has an arrow on the top. I could've swore I read that the arrows needed to point to the engine but after driving it that way, I knew there was a problem. I rotated the strut mount 180* so the arrows point out and the car drives like new again.

Ride: its still a bit bouncy but it rides like OEM. I've been in other lowered mustangs and they rode terrible but I'm real happy with the ride. This one doesn't ride like that at all. Might be due to switching to Koni's? I don't know.

Handling: I honestly can't tell a huge difference but I don't drive on a lot of curves here in TX. Most roads are straight.

Appearance: REALLY nice. Huge difference. I wavered and couldn't decide on these or the Ultrasports but Strano made a good point and said the difference is only like 0.4" which is barely noticeable. Now I just need to save a little more and get new wheels. I don't think I'll need the rear panhard bar. I haven't taken any measurements but it looks like the body is centered over the two rear wheels. Sam saved me money on that because I was willing to buy and he said just save your money and wait and see if you need it first. Thanks, Sam.

Alignment: It still tracks straight and I can't feel a difference but you can look at the front tires and see they're not vertical. They're both leaning in at the top. I bought the camber bolts and will have the car aligned soon. Not in a huge hurry though because it still drives fine, I'm buying a new set of wheels and tires, and I can't find a buyer for the OEM wheels....sooooo I don't really care if it wears the tires down.

Hope this helps others. It's a little pricey of an upgrade but sure makes the car sit lower and maintain the ride quality.

congrats on the upgrade. You can put the camber bolts in yourself that will help.

Congrats I have the same set up as far as shocks/struts but I have Maximum Motorsports caster camber plates and adjustable panhard bar.

I would get the panhard because even with my Eibach pro kit that lowered 1"front 1.5" rear I needed it.It's not a big deal but it will help and they are cheap.

Comments like that make people think Texas is flat, and it's not. There are at least 7 different types of terrain in our great state, you just happen to live far from the Hill Country.

I got my car back from having the same things installed plus a Hushpower axle-back set. I've noticed at low speeds over some bumps I hear a slight thumping which I think is coming from the strut mounts. Is this normal or no? I had a reputable shop do it since i've never changed out suspension before. Problem is I didn't do my research and I hadn't ordered strut mounts because I didn't know they were necessary and luckily a fellow '11 5.0 owner was picking up his car when they were trying to figure out what was wrong with the car. So I bought some Steeda strut mounts and that's what's installed currently. The shop I took it too they are more familiar with Ferarris and Porsches than Mustangs but they are a very reputable shop. At the same time this is the first car i've lowered so i'm not sure what to expect. Otherwise I love the way it looks on the CS.

Hmmm. Not sure about the Steeda strut mounts but you might have the strut mounts and sway bar link checked. Sounds like they might not have tightened the upper strut bolt enough. It has a sleeve and you have to tighten that top bolt until it bottoms out and I think torque it to about 50 ft lbs. If that bolt hasn't been tightened all the way down, I can see how the strut would bounce up and down on the underside of the strut tower. Just an idea.
