Intake Manifold
Intake Manifold
After research and research and research, Ive come the conclusion that sticking with my stock intake manifold on my 2012 5.0, is my best bet to keep my low end torque... Everywhere I read, everyone loses low end torques with the CJ and the BOSS... Any input from anyone?

With a boss intake you will actually gain a little torque down low around 1500 rpm, lose a little in the midrange around 3500 rpm and then torque is basically a wash from there on out but you gain decent HP gains from 5500 to 7500. I personally did not notice the low gain or the mid loss. But the top end pull is very noticeable.
What are your goals for the car? Are you looking for more power in the 6000-7500 RPM range? Are you willing to wind the motor out to redline?
I think it would make sense if you're tracking the car, and are in the 4000-7000 rpm range for 20-30 minutes, but not so much for street driving.

I see your dilemma. Boss is probably not what you're after.
Cobra Jet drag cars come with the CJ maniford, but they also have a ton of other supporting mods to take advantage of power at high RPM (forged pistons, billet oil pump gears, high lift valves, boss heads, high RPM pulse ring etc.) I don't think you'd see much benefit of CJ without other mods allowing the engine to run safe and breathe better over 7000RPM
