Intake Manifold

After research and research and research, Ive come the conclusion that sticking with my stock intake manifold on my 2012 5.0, is my best bet to keep my low end torque... Everywhere I read, everyone loses low end torques with the CJ and the BOSS... Any input from anyone?

I've been looking into a Boss 302 intake manifold but I have seen the same as you that low end torque suffers. The only question I have is would I really truly notice it? But then I also question whether I would feel a difference on the high end and my thought is no I wouldn't especially since I never rev my engine high enough on a regular basis to need the extra boost in the top end.

I have a Boss 302 manni installed with 3.73 gears on my 2014 5.0 and I really haven't noticed any loss in low end torque at all. Its very minimum if anything and not noticeable.

With a boss intake you will actually gain a little torque down low around 1500 rpm, lose a little in the midrange around 3500 rpm and then torque is basically a wash from there on out but you gain decent HP gains from 5500 to 7500. I personally did not notice the low gain or the mid loss. But the top end pull is very noticeable.

Well then I guess if I do decide to change it out, I'll probably go with the boss. The only thing I've heard about the CJ, too expensive and doesn't do anything till after 7500 rpm.

What are your goals for the car? Are you looking for more power in the 6000-7500 RPM range? Are you willing to wind the motor out to redline?

I think it would make sense if you're tracking the car, and are in the 4000-7000 rpm range for 20-30 minutes, but not so much for street driving.

I see your dilemma. Boss is probably not what you're after.

Cobra Jet drag cars come with the CJ maniford, but they also have a ton of other supporting mods to take advantage of power at high RPM (forged pistons, billet oil pump gears, high lift valves, boss heads, high RPM pulse ring etc.) I don't think you'd see much benefit of CJ without other mods allowing the engine to run safe and breathe better over 7000RPM

I'll probably just end up staying with the stock intake....
