Goodyear eagle f1 super car tires generation 2 already bad?

i got some used goodyear eagle f1 supercar g2's plenty of tread life but the tires seem to have lost there grip. its like driving on ice. they set up in a garage for about 10 months. the temps in NC dont get that low here so I cant under stand how they seem to be so hard. does anyone have any idea if they will come back to life or are they just trash?

also, there is no cracking or dry rot. visually they look 100%

What air pressure are you running in them? Maybe drop it a couple psi?

It's not the air. There running at 35psi. But it's not like there kinda bad it's seriously like driving in the rain with slicks but on New asphalt on a dry warm day. My all seasons had 20 times the grip.

My guess is that since these are summer-only compound tires, you're not getting enough heat into them...and that may be tough to do if it's too cool outside. My stock BBP 19" Priellis are useless when it starts getting much cooler than ~65F no matter how hard I try.

It looks like you guys get weather in the 40s and 50s frequently this time of year...and I'd bet that this is your problem.

Switch back to your all-seasons until it starts warming up. I wouldn't waste the Super Car tires on cold pavement.

BTW, how many miles are on these tires? The compound on any tire will harden with each heat cycle. They may have plenty of tread depth but it doesn't mean they're not well used.

Mine were wearing unevenly down the center. I've had to drop mine down to 30-31 psi and the grip improved alittle, but it's still nothing to write home about. Thinking about going to Nittos next year.

What Motor Trend has to say about these tires:

"This tire, as we've seen many times, absolutely needs heat to work. When it gets cold, it's rock hard and has little grip. Get it heated up, though, and it sticks like glue."

i just was not informed enough about them. After about 30min of casual driving they grip fine. and at the track they grap like drag radials after a good burnout. Ive run allot of high end tires over the years but ive never experienced anything as bad as theses are when they are cold. but i got them for 50bucks. cant complain. thanks for all the input and opinions.

So that what it is. The temps are starting to drop here and the car is getting harder to handle.

I got a set of brand new good years practically 90% tread left if you want those to replace the old ones you have.
