German sounding V8...

I'd say the new 5.0 and this AMG V8 share very similar sounding exhaust notes. Anyone know the firing order of these 2 engines?

What about the crank differences? Flat plane or cross plane (90deg?) That tells more about the sound than firing order.

Define "similar".

They all have a unmistakably v8 sound to them... Yes. But to say it's similar is open to interpretation. I mean E63, CL63, CLS63, CLK63, R63, S63, SL63, C63, ML63... all the 'same' engine. You'd have a hard time matching the tone to the car. Tho there is slight variation... Plus with cold start, warm start, after 2 hours of driving, what-have-you... I mean it's all relative.

End of the day it sounds like a V8.

Eh, I wasn't saying that only the E63 sounded like the Coyote, but more like all the current AMG V8s. It has been mentioned before that the new 5.0 sounds very German, and I was just posting a vid to show that I agree .

It sure doesn't sound like the pushrod motors. Or hell, even the 4.6 2v or 4v.

**** that Z8 sounds awesome! I always loved those cars. Modern day AC Cobra IMO. Beautiful cars, and with that exhaust they sound downright mean! I wonder what else he has done to it..
