Functional side scoops

Functional side scoops
So I want OEM-looking side scoops. This'll be on a '13 I don't have yet, so this is just the idea stage. What I'm thinking is to use a little bondo or whatever to create a seamless flow from the edges of the scoop to the body, towards the fender. And as long as I'm going through all that trouble (including repainting), why not make them functional? For that, I was thinking of just picking up the cheapest brake duct kit I can find, cut the fenders (under the scoops) and route the ducts. Forseeable problems? Scoops you think would work best for this idea? I like the Xenon's on the 05-09s because they match right up to the fender flare, but with the smaller flares on the 10+s, they don't look as good IMHO, so I'm looking elsewhere.
MODS: This probably should have gone into '10-'14 Exterior Modifications, so move if you agree.

whatever you do, dont use bondo.
a welder, a hammer and dolly, a bit of sheet metal, and some cutting will get you real close to the rough shape. the better you can get it at this stage the better it'll look in the end, so take your time early on and do things right. Once you get the sheetmetal as close to the finished product as you can get it, use a sealing primer, and then use a glazing putty or something (other than bondo lol). lots of sanding and shaping, and you're ready to spray your primer, sand, paint, sand, clear, sand, buff etc....
best bet is to ask an auto paint supply for advice on what products to use, they can most likely recommend the best products for your needs, and you get a lot better quality than what you get at vatozone.

Brake cooling would be better served on the fronts. The '94-'95 Mustangs had the rear scoops opening out into the wheel well, but it seemed somewhat doubtful if there was any meaningful cooling flow that would get to the brake rotors.

Absolutely will do the front, but that's easy: new fenders. I'm actually more interested in the look of the scoops (and they'll be somewhat original), but I want to be able to say that they're functional, even if they don't do all that much. So the 94-5s just had an opening, correct; no ducting? I was thinking of just going that route too if the ducting part proved too problematic.

Right; I misspoke. Was thinking front fenders for venting (with the rear fenders on my brain), but plan to do the front ducting with a GT500 front bump. Love the '12 Boss lower fascia look, but no quite as hot on the '13. Thanks for the info. Kinda like that louvered idea.
