Front left suspension making a "clunking" sound..

When I go over a speed bump I hear a clunking sound coming from the drivers side front end. What could be causing this?

The factory upper strut mounts is a possible reason. Have you lowered the car? I've not heard of a factory-height car making the popping noise but I could be wrong. Wait and see - someone with a similar experience will chime in I'm sure.

Here's a solution, but I like Steeda products, not trying to promote them or anything, just never had a problem or complaint with them. http://www.steeda.com/store/2011-up-...ut-mounts.html

""A great upgrade for anyone racing their car, running lowering springs, or wanting to rid their car of the popping sounds coming from worn factory mounts.""

this actually appears to be a very commonly reported (on the other message boards) front LCA problem. Most folks end up getting it replaced at the dealership. I've got the same issue on my 2012...

good luck!

The Front LCA's can make noise?....a new one to add to the list of "sounds" I will keep checking for. So far I have been lucky with sounds coming from the engine, trans, or....whatever. I did have a tick noise from 200-500 miles but it went away. Dry weather and drag racing this summer should bring out the best in these cars (as far as finding noises and problems).

I had a noise pop out of nowhere that sounds more like a 'grisel' sound. Can't describe it better than that..Definitely from the chassis/suspension, and it only sounds off when I'm taking off from a stop.

There is a service bullitan for the think sound over the speed bump. They are replacing lower control arms. My parts are on back order.

This is a stupid question but my friend told me that ford is actually changing these noisy control arms with the same exact one, would they do this or have they corrected the problem?I'm taking mine in soon.

There was a bad batch/run of parts from the supplier; mine has been great so far, since having them replaced a couple weeks ago.

I have a clunk noise from take off. Almost sounds like the driveshaft but it has to be the front. I took it in and the dealer claimed "characteristics" of the car, it has gotten worse.
