Digital,
I am going to keep the P-zeros and the rims. As for the brembo, there is a great thread on this site that discusses the pros and cons of upgrading to more expensive baers and brembos etc. The stock breaks are good and all that is needed is some better pads and maybe upgrade brake lines.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know as the collective wisdom on this site is better than just one guys thoughts.

Quad - I was thinking the same thing. I have been looking at numerous websites (lethal, the horse one and roush) trying to figure out what would look the best. I am even contemplating some type of racing stripe. I had a 69 Mach 1 once and I really like the striping on it, gold and black on a red car. I am trying to find picture of that car on line and see if I can get a shop to make for me. What do you think?

Why did you choose the Whipple? I'm on the verge of buying one, and the only thing holding me up is deciding which one to get, between the Whipple 2.9, KB 2.8LC, and the Procharger Stage 2 w/ D-1SC.

rsb - I chose Whipple because it came with a Ford Racing program and when talking to the guys at Ford Racing parts Direct and the Ford Coyote Engineer at Ford, they convinced me that they safe-sided the program so that it would not ruin the engine with the power. This applies to the 525 and the 624 packages. The installation was straight forward and the power band is incredible. It just pulls and pulls until red line. Amazing. I decided to go all Ford Racing parts on the car (except for the Roush axle-back exhaust - which is awesome). I figured if I keep it Ford I can't go too far wrong, and besides it keeps a good theme for the improvements - all checked out by their engineers.
Hope this helps.

Did you notice a big pick up in torque under 3500rpm? I think thats the only place this car is lacking is in the low end grunt. Nice to know the Tune is on the Fat side too.

Will the the factory GT500 CAI fit the throttle body, and mate up with it's location? It seems like the inlet to the air box would be restrictive. I wonder if the KB 4.5" intake tube would work. Thanks again.

Ryno - Good question. I'll call the Ford guys and see what they say. I've been wondering if a CAI would do anything to the program they sent me, air flow etc. I'll post the answer.
Thanks

Jim, To tell the truth, the low end grunt is huge. You could burn the tires off if not careful. In first, the red line comes like Now! When you hit second, it's as if a turbo kicks in, really, slams you into the seat. I read where the 624hp 5.0 was into the 10's with a 123-125 mph quarter. I don't think that was with street tires, however. As far as the torque range on a dyno, I'll have to get empirical data to satisfy the skeptics. Hopefully soon.

Congrats on the new Whipple and suspension.
I had the same 2.3 liter on my 07 Shelby GT and could only imagine how much quicker your car is with the 5.0.

One of the guys at Ford engineering said that a CAI other than what comes with the SC kit is not acceptable. Everything is set up to maximize efficiency while at the same time protecting the engine. it sounds like that they do not want you to disrupt their highly refined tuning because it would throw off the built in engine protection. Now they didn't say anything about what happens after combustion, like headers and full exhaust systems.
I am happy with what I got and do not intend to modify anything else to gain HP and TQ. I will work on the drive shaft and the differential (install a Torsen) in an attempt to get more the flywheel HP to the ground.

Personally, if that were my car, that would be sitting in a box in my garage before I started buying other stuff...

Did you go with the Ford ProCal tune or was it custom tuned? Do you have any videos? I'd love to see/hear the SC in action. CONGRATS!
