Flowmaster Outlaw Slight Problem

Hello all,

I'm new around here but looking for some help. I just bought a '14 GT Premium Oxford White with a few added goodies about two months ago. This weekend I installed Flowmaster Outlaw axle backs. I love the sound of these, but I have a slight problem with the driver side tip wanting to "float". The hanger is moving around in the rubber bushing, slightly, causing the tip to shift around a small amount. I put a clamp with set screw (Link To Image) on the outside of the hanger against the rubber to try to solve this problem. I have still noticed movement although it has been reduced. I fear that on a long trip the tip may shift enough to rest against the plastic cut out in the bumper and cause some melted damage. Has anyone experienced this before?

Have Outlaws on mine and have never had an issue. All I did was leave the clamp on the over axle pipe loose until I had the tip exactly where I wanted it then tightened the clamp down and it has never moved.

My process was the same as yours. My passenger side tip moves a little, but not near the movement the driver side tip has.

Get hanger keepers or whatever they are called, they were supposed to come with the kits but I never got any.

I didn't have an issue after my install as well.
If your clamps are installed properly there should be no movement.

Is that what those little metal deals in the baggy were for?

Never used them, tossed them back in the box.

Yep. Some folks even wrap electrical tape around the hanger tips and insert into the rubber hangers. Same concept.
