Eci, admit it. They are impressive times for the minimal mods on a day-old GT. Personally, I much prefer the sound of a supercharged modular 4V over the Coyote, so when I'm in a position to afford a Mustang again, I think I'll be looking at a used 11 GT500. But you're right, mod for mod the GT500 would be faster. Throw nitrous, 3.73s, slicks and tune on a brand new 11 GT500. Guarantee it would be faster, even if the engine configuration wasn't optimal for nitrous off the bat.

Btw, MM&FF's website has the story on the run, along with the mod list. I'll sum up in case some don't want to look it up: aftermarket 31 spline axles, spool and 4.56 gears, Metco LCA's, fabbed catted xpipe and Basanni axlebacks, passenger seat removed and driver's side racing seat installed, giggle gas (100 wet) and slicks and skinnies. I think that about covers it.
But then again, this kind of battling doesn't really do it for me. It's interesting to watch, but I'd set my car up for optimal handling and agility, not all out straight line power...

Easy guys... Try to remember most of us Buy our Mustangs for more than the track. Each car has it's purpose, that's why Ford builds them all! And yes with time/money ANYONE of them can be FASTER than any of the others. Even a base 4.0L V6 - strap on twin turbos and some juice and it's a rocket too... For many the decision is whether you want a fast car from the factory or something you can get from the factory and make fast (or faster as the 5.0 is quick already).
To slightly side with ECI, I think it's great they are in the 10's but I'm not overly impressed as they used nitrous to do it... Reason being, I can't (legally) use it on the streets. I would like to see 10's with motor, or FI, etc... Items that stay on the car after the race is over.
Will I use nitrous? no.. Personally, I'm scared of the stuff... Seen a few cars go boom thanks to it, so kudos to the boys that have the b4lls to run it.

I'm not a fan of juice either but until superchargers for the 5.0 hit the market this is the only FI game in town.
Yes the car was set up for the strip but that doesn't make it any less impressive, considering they used the stock tune.

My post wasn't directed at eci. Just my opinion on JPC's car.

I have to admit that though nice times for a GT 5.0...imressive yes, HOW LONG is that engine going to hold up with that 100 shot ? That is the question that is on my mind. As for a GT500 or 5.0 11's well yeah if the two were sitting on a lot and I could have a juiced up GT or take a stock GT500..well duh..the juicer would still be there tomorrow. A gt500 10~11 is a dam sexy car. And what you get with it far exceeds what the engine has.

High compression and nitrous usually isn't much of a problem. Someone should blow one up soon though.
These guys aren't out to make nice streetable combos for 11' GT owners though, they are in an ego contest for the "first to x" "glory" right now.

VP 110, lol.
The car won't get out of the 11's without a power adder, that much is for sure. I stand by the engine being pretty much "tapped out" from the factory. Most of the speed is coming from drag mods like spools, slicks, LCA/UCA, gears. The tune and exhaust probably got them 2 tenths at the most.
You're going to want a blower on your 5.0, so start saving!

The car is far from "tapped out" from the factory. No, its not as fast as your average 2010 Kona/White GT500, but maybe, just maybe, there are those that would prefer it over the GT500. I know this is hard for you to believe, but just consider the possibility, and let us lower-class Mustang citizens live in what I'm sure you think of as our little fantasy world. Ok?
Thanks, have a nice day, and wear taller heals tomorrow.

Why do you have such animosity towards a car? especially a mustang, you drive one! lol
