My bad. I meant cat back. Thanks.

Just got a 2013 5.0 with track package... What would be the best exhaust system to go with?

The best one will be the one that sounds best for you! There are tons of GT500's and Roush's represented with others too and they sound nothing alike. Do a search and find the vids, just use external speakers or headphones for the best sound. My biggest issue was figuring out X pipe or H pipe...

My buddy and I race down this stretch all the time. I have yet to see cops on a Saturday morning.

My biggest curiosity is if a new H pipe is going to change my sound much.

The stock H pipe is very restrictive so by replacing it with one less restrictive will make it a bit louder, and if you remove all the restriction by deleting the resonators it will be louder still. I used the Pypes 3" X pipe and welded in 3" pipe all way back eliminating the resonators. It really opened up the sound, but still not obnoxious at all. You hear it when on the gas, but put it in 6th and it just goes away, no drone at all from the GT500's. I wanted to hear it but not attract unwelcome attention from the Law because there are times I have very little self control and I like to feel the power. I think I accomplished my goals. YMMV....

The Borla ATAK system looks pretty sick, as do some of the others. I am trying to decide between a cat-back and an axle-back exhaust system. I am mostly looking for appearance and sound as the car is already pretty fast. The Roush doesn't have a cat-back option, either just axle-back or total system with exhaust, H or X pipe, and long tube headers. I am more leaning towards an all-inclusive cat-back system that doesn't require extra purchase of headers or a separate H/X pipe or an axle-back as I don't want to void the warranty and I don't want to have to re-tune the system as is recommended with a full system replace... Any suggestions on which to go with for over-all sound and performance... The GT500 axle-backs look nice too... I somewhat think the Roush may be good because I can always add on the H pipe and headers later, but a cat-back often has an included H-pipe... Saw the flowmaster American Thunder catback, any thoughts.
Thanks for any help and input!

I installed a Borla S Type full catback. The sound is crazy and it turns heads. You will love the full system wih the x pipe. Car runs smoother and really lets you know that you have a high performance car!!

InnovationGUY13, thanks for the information, did you have to install the headers as well or just the cat-back exhaust and the X-pipe? The x-pipe came separate from the cat-back exhaust correct, and have you done any engine retuning?

When i bought the catback it came with the xpipe. No headers. The install was a direct bolt on from the stock system. I did not retune as i wasnt required. Since then I have installed a Steeda CAI and did a custom tune.

I have the borla s type catback and I agree, it sounds awesome. The xpipe is included with the cat back, hence the name cat back.

I have Borla S-type Axle back on my 2013 GT. Can I purchase the Borla xpipe by itself and add it to my exhaust? Does the xpipe elliminate the resonators?

Can the borla system really be considered an X-pipe since it looks like the exhaust gasses never cross
