You have to remember they drove the **** car straight off the lot to the track and have been beating the bloody crap out of a virgin motor/transmission. A casual racer is going to at least give it a few hundred miles to break in (even if it's believed that a long break in period isn't needed anymore, there is still A break in period in the manual). I would bet that has a lot to do with it...

Here is what evo just posted on facebook:

We're Uploading a 1080P HD Video of our 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V Street Car Running 10's in the 1/4 Mile! There is a Scary Moment In the Video.....Get Ready....!
They make it sound like it wasn't that big of a deal. Who knows.

heard a rumor they changed the intake and it might have grenaded. Hopefully the engine is alright though.

It didn't do any damage, we hit the rev limiter, which then closes the Throttle, the Air Intake assembly pressurized and the silicone connector popped off our Prototype CAI.

In these cars when you hit the rev limiter it doesn't pull Fuel/Spark like the 2005-2010 Mustangs, it actually just closes the throttle....

I agree.

On a camaro sight I had a guy say y'all broke the rear end and engine. Jealousy is a female dog to put it nicely.

Them 5th gen guys are scared crapless.

I agree it is a driver's race.

And I trust printed times more than posted times on a website.

I would love to see the 60ft on the 12.58 run. If evan smith could have run a 1.9x 60ft he would probably beat the best time on that list stock and it would be a printed mag time.

What was the 12.6 that MMFF ran? It ran a 12.6? with a 2.06 60ft time. That SS ran about a tenth better at the 60ft mark. If the stang got that 60ft it looks like it would definitely go a 12.5.

Properly driven these cars are very close.

And I will say it again. I trust printed times, especially from MMFF, more so than one posted on the internet.

I got the magazine yesterday and it did run a 12.6x @112. They also bolted up drag radials and ran a 12.34@110
