Converter yes, gear no. I went 11.2 N/A with my stock 3.15's. It's about choosing the right matching components and gears would not be one of them unless it was a 3.31.

See my response in the other thread. The 4.10's are quicker, period.

Would that change if you were making power adder type power- yes more than likely... That is not my situation at the moment so in the interim, the gears are winning. I will re-gear the car if and when necessary, no big deal

Why do you want the Boss manifold? Unless something has changed in the past year or so, the conventional wisdom was that unless you had a built bottom end that could take advantage of ~7500 RPM, the Boss manifold is only going to slow you down.

Remember that the Boss has different rods, pistons crank(?) valuetrain, etc. that allow the motor to rev higher and benefit from that intake.

Just playing the devil's advocate...
Once again, a bunch of mis information being re-parroted

Ported boss the lowdown losses are pretty much erased. If you can detect any slowness from a correctly installed and ported boss installation then your butt dyno is probably more sensitive than Superflow's best offerings, LOL

edit: 1/2 the people reporting their junk was slower with a boss were running an unported one, with the mismatched halves, no cleanup work, and no cares given during install... My guess is those probably did run like crap...

So where are your slips showing an improvement?

I'd love to see some time slips as well. But I'm not going to hold my breath.

@Mr. V Was there ever any resolution to this? I have the same issue now, and I have to go to a smog referee here in California with a 2014 GT I just bought. Just purchased the CATs, Reflashing the PCM and reinstalling the factory CAI. But it has the Boss 302 intake manifold.

Just a heads up! The last thread activity was from nearly 7 years ago.. Therefore, I'd recommend submitting a PM to the OP as your more than likely to receive a much quicker response.. LOL
