Boss 302 Manifold?

Thinking about using part of my tax rebate on getting the Boss 302 manifold. I don't track it or anything, but think it looks badass . The lowest I could find it for was $470. Is it worth it, or does anyone know where I could find it cheaper?.....that might help me make my decision......

I love that you're considering it for $470 just because it looks badaz. A man after my own heart, lol.

It'll take more than the $470 intake to get it on the car, additional parts are needed.

And unless you tune it and crank the max revs up to about 7500 then you will lose power instead of add any, and you will lose low end torque no matter what.

Anyway, a big hit just for looks.

Need to rev 7600-7800 to be quicker than a stock manifold car. But it does look good and can make the car fun to drive.

I did notice a loss of low end power around town. Ended up going back to my stock manifold again, overall it's pretty hard to beat!

Alrighty. I guess I'll go for option #2, which is hydrodipped carbon fiber engine cover (which is like 1/3 of the price.

7600-7800? You realize the Boss 302 redlines at 7500.

I have the Boss intake on my 2013 GT, I do track it many times a year. It pull considerably harder from 4k on and I have yet to notice a loss in torque though There is a slight drop. If you like the pull up top then its a fantastic mod. On the track I stay 4k and above so it was more than worth it for me. My redline is set now at 7500(like the boss) and I usually shift at around 7200 for piece of mine.

Cheers

Both are the same price. Do I do all carbon fiber or do the grabber accents?

On a stock tune yes, with an aftermarket tune boss 302's are turning 8500 rpm.

8500 - that is impressive for a motor within reach of most regular folk!

Lol you just derailed your own thread

Am I in the minority to say nay to both the manifold or cf look?

Sorry.

Sorry.
I have a feeling you think I should just leave it alone so I can throw a supercharger on there.

Our Boss redlines at 8200 tuned by VMP (we could tune to 8500 but without Billet oil gears I wouldn't suggest it), keeps making power as well..... awesome tune. Made 455 with LT's, O/R H and CF JLT. Its all about the tune however, you will never maximize a Boss manifold in a GT due to the valve springs, they're not designed to go past 7200RPM without floating issues, you'll lose power. Its a popular mod but there are much better options out there, if local regulations aren't as strict I always recommend an Off road mid pipe or headers (cat deletes work too) before a Boss mani on a GT. Don't forget, these mods require the need for a tune. We're running a special on our VMP tunes and SCT tuners right now.

Those that have used VMP tunes can attest to how strict Justin Starkey is when writing his tunes, you won't get a generic tune either. PM us if you have any questions, we will definitely take care of ya!!
