Borla s type cat back fitment issues

I've had my Borla S type cat back exhaust on my 2012 gt for over a year now. The x pipe had a welt break in the middle creating an exhaust leak. Borla warrentyed the part and I just had it put on at the local stealership. Now my exhaust
tips stick out 2 inches farther than before. They stuck out before but now they are really out there. Anyone else deal with this? If so anything I can do to help with this?

Post some pictures, it would help out to see physically the problem.

The cup clamps between the x pipe and the cats has some play in it. It could be sealed and tight but not be fully seated. I'd be willing to bet that if you loosened the 4 clamps around the x pipe, got under the cats and pulled up, they will move an inch or so. Also from there at the other end, you can pull the over axle pipes up into the clamps too. There is easily 2" of movement in those two areas.

I had that same crack in my x pipe. Borla warrantied it but the weld looked really sloppy. Not too happy with the quality of the Borla system.

Thanks for the advise, guess I'll try to tweak it. Not really happy with the overall fitment of the cat back pipes. The x pipe was hard to get installed, you could tell that it was not an exact fit. You would think a reputable company like borla would have these issues worked out. Love the sound just not the fit on the car.

Search From Z to 5's threads. Burton had these same issues and ended up switching to Corsa...

Based on other things that I read on here, I would bet they sent you a 13-14 muffler instead of the 11-12 one. There is a different part for each of those sets of model years.

Aren't the 13-14 exhaust shorter than the 11-12? I have the 11-12 exhaust on my '13 that stick out too far.

Yes. The 13-14 are shorter. Does OP have a 13? Maybe they sent him 11-12?

Whoops is right. Guess it's hung really badly or is another defective one from Borla.
