The Diva nailed it. Get what sounds best to you and also axlebacks will not affect your warranty in any way. I had the dealer put GT500's on my 14' GT before I even picked her up and love them. Not too loud when your cruising but absolutely scream when you bury your right foot.

Best thing to do would be find a local mustang club. Go to an event or meeting and ask around about ABs. No mustang driver on gods green earth will turn down the chance to let someone hear their exhaust note.

Check out this link OP. All you need to know. Explains sound,
Decibels inside and outside the car, bang for your buck, fit and finish.

This has got to be the best video hands down when it comes to making a fair comparison of different exhaust types.

I've listened to 100's of clips on youtube, its way to hard to judge. Best to hear in person.

Personally I ended up with GT500's perfect mix of sound and tone.

Really agreed. GT500s are for the more subtle but very high quality sound appreciator. You can always loud them up later with reso delete, off road H or headers. Louder mufflers will just get stupid if you do that. You can't quiet down an exhaust but, you can turn up the volume fairly easily.

I was wondering about the resonator delete...does that result in drone....I am leaning towards the GT500's when my GT comes in as I like the deepness of the tone, but more importantly the price...but if down the road I want a little more volume deleting the resonators may be the ticket....

Welcome to the forum! You've asked the most commonly asked question there is on this forum. This thread is filled with exhaust clips of just about every manufacturer available: https://themustangsource.com/f800/20...-clips-487106/ If you want more discussion, you're encouraged to use the search function, which will lead you to more discussion than you could ever possibly want.

As others have said, the broad consensus on here seems to be, for the dollar, GT-500's are the best but, regardless of price, Borla S-Types are the best. Both good options.

A wise approach. When my 2014 came in I was surprised at how good the factory exhaust sounded but I wanted all little more. I did exactly the same thing, GT500's and stopped there..perfect. Mellow under normal driving conditions and highway speeds..loud enough when you want them be. I recommend the GT500's and removal of the sound tube baffle at the firewall, great combination, but everyone's taste is different.

Seems like everyone on TMS loves the GT500s and Roush AB's. I went with Roush for my 13 GT and I LOVE it. FWIW, I heard the GT500 in person, but only heard Roush on YouTube before making my purchase.

I have GT500's minus resonators(no drone). Yes, the Borla S types are #1 but bang for your buck the GT500 with resonator delete is a close close second. Roush is right there too so not bashing the Roush guys.
