Tell that to NHRA.

I'm disappointed at how superstitous this forum is. Maybe if you guys pray really hard or burn an effigy of a Camaro before you run, you can knock of another .1!

Anyway, I'd never claim that you can look at the peak hp of a car and the weight and know EXACTLY what kind of 1/4 mile it would run...but you can predict the best case scenario and therefore the calculator is a valid sanity check and fairly consistent. One problem is that dynos are inconsistent and temps/airpressure/humidity vary its tough to know exactly how much Power you're making...but it will get you consistently in the ballpark.

I was done. You guys brought the thread back.

So somebody tell me how fast a 400hp, 3800lb car could run the quarter mile... What's the best possible time that could possibly be run in ideal conditions? What are you basing this answer on?
So you can't just add traction. Here NMRA factory stock 2011 coyote. Running 11.6 at 110. Now please shut up about HP calculators and Motortrend. And go the the **** track.

Ok. Nmra is a bit more lenient than NHRA they do have open exhaust so they do make a few more hp. And there race weight is around 3650. But out that trap speed in one of you calculators. Or out that time and let's see how much power an exhaust offer a stock coyote.

I was going to let this die b/c I have actual obligations for my time....but I just checked out the video...and you're on crack. ....look at the mods the owner listed in the comments. Full exhaust, tune, suspension, drag radial big/littles, custom torque converter and a driveshaft not to mention whatever weight he pulled out of it. Oh, but the motor is sealed.

Thanks for proving my point.

I didn't say it wasn't modded. I wanted you to use it as a reference for your calculators your so quick to trust. After all his mods are to gearing and traction issues. Besides being about 250lbs lighter witch is good for around a couple tenths.

Not like it matters. You don't trust the internet unless it's MotorTrend or some random speed calculator and I don't put all my trust into magazines or speed calculators. At least we agree the Blue is the fastest color.

I do believe the OP but I can also see why some have doubts.

Those are Z06 numbers and with just bolt on's and drag radials and the poor 60ft
things do not add up.

The 119 trapp also indicates more power then most get with CAI/tune
It looks like you got a factory ringer and a killer tune.

The trap speed is high, I agree but the car has always trapped very well. Bama has done me right and the tunes are solid IMO, I just need a slick so I can get the car out of the hole harder and faster. And from a roll C6Z's aren't that scary....if they are stock.

than run phil! he's just a c5z with some basic bolt ons who put in the 425-430 hp range! Your boy crab had some problems with it and he was full bolt on 5.0 if you think c6z are easy! I would put a driver error on the c6z driver cause it shouldn't be that close!

And a cam, full exhaust and a driver

I know Phil, Fran, Mark, Joel, Billy(04 Cobra I posted on here)and all them real well, we all hangout. And I have all of Crabb's parts off his 5.0 when his popped.

But Joel(pro charged C5Z) and I went for a LATE night ride(3-4am) and some guy and his girl lauged at Joel and tried to run him and got DUMMPED on so I came up from a 40 roll and put a fender on him...agree the car needed a driver mod but I still got a C6Z

But a well driven stock C6Z is what, 122? On the street that isn't alot...

what did you put down after the longtubes? was it worth it compaired to the off road x? I remember when you were on the dyno at matts shop and the numbers were uncorrected but what does it put down now corrected (SAE) ? just trying to see if they are worth it when FI goes on next month!

On any power adder I feel they are a must, the car made 387(?) corrected, it made 411 at matt's uncorrected. That was just A/B's, stock air box, factory mid pipe. Car then made 4 something with a tune, off road x pipe...then I just got a mail tune for the LTs, and intake. Crabb made 448 on his and my car seems to make a tad more, he was only a 115-116 trap car. For the price I picked them up it was great. IMO, go for it...

I didn't read through all seven pages of mostly useless drivel but I will say if you ran a 11.anything with your mods and a 1.94 60 that's a strong top end on that car. I ran a 12.58@112 with my car with same sixty. I'm automatic on street tires and just a tune/cai/ and a/b.
good numbers and will only get better with a good launch. Congrats

Agree, the car pulls HARD in the 3rd. I need some suspension components to get this car cutting 1.6 60' lol

But thank you!

I've been running the Bama hybrid tune for a few days now and I've got to say that it is the best tune i've used by far. (so far i've had tunes by Steeda, C&L, and many from Bama).
Great job Bama!!
