I had questions about the Borla Atak exhaust. I actually live in St.Paul,Minnesota and I want to know Are they legal in MN for the sound levels?
one of my friend he just told me after I bought the Atak exhaust that the cops might pull you over!!
In Brola website it say's that it's legal exhaust but It dosn't say that it's legal for the sound level. The cops in MN they may pull me over for the noise. So, Is there any website or any thing that prove that it's legal to use this exhaust so I can show them that.

There's plenty of people out there with much louder exhaust set ups than the ATAK mufflers. Man up.

I have the Axle Back Borla ATAK. If you research you will find that Cali is one of the only states where the ATAK is NOT legal.

 

I have been pulled over twice in installing my full borla stinger with x-pipe. Once to see what I had under the hood. (cop was a nascar fan) and another time to take a pic of my car. Go Borla!!!!

 

Cops in Saint Paul have better stuff to do than pull over people with loud exhaust. It's the city, not the country. I used to live there. You're good.

 

Smog legal yes, every locality has noise level standards. I doubt they will pull you for the noise. Now it may draw attention to you and your car which could lead them for other reasons to stop you

 

My buddy just put these on his '11 5.0 yesterday. They sound great. Plus they're very quiet until you get on them.

The exhaust tips are like cannons coming out the back of the car.

 

Is his car a 13??? The aftermarket tips on 13s stick out mad far.

How loud are the ATAKs? Like compared to the Roush axle backs? I use that as a gauge lol

 

You'll love the Ataks, they're deeper than the Roush axle backs but decibel wise about the same. Let us know if we can help you out at all with anything. You'll love the quality of Borlas and the sound is amazing!!

 

My car sounds like a banshee and I've driven her through at least 15 states. Never pulled over for loud exhaust. I wouldnt stress it.

My Son has the Borla ATAK mufflers on his 11 GTCS with AR long tube headers (Catless)
I have SW long tube headers (Catless) GT500 mufflers.
His car is a lot louder than mine. While cruising in mine you notice the exhaust but its not bad. In his the exhaust gets annoying after a while.

 

They sound great and they aren't as loud as you may think. WOT they sound pretty good and rumble NICELY! Everytime I go under an over pass I rev it! You'll be fine with just the axel backs. Thats what I did.

 

Just got the ATAK cat back. Can't wait to put it on!! May swap the borla X for a Bassani X tho...

Usually you will not get stopped for loud exhaust (although you can). However, we all know exhaust brings attention to the car. So if you drive a little crazy or "spirited" you may get stopped since they may have already looked at you..
