aftermarket alarm/remote start

Anyone have an aftermarket remote start? I have a weird problem if I make a mistake and the car stalls on me, I can't start it back up for like a good minute... its quite annoying and embarrassing when this happens to me during traffic

Sounds like whoever did your install botched it. Who installed it?

Also might be helpful to post what brand you have. Depending on how it was wired in, it's probably because you're not going through the preshutdown steps and it's locking out a restart.

I figured manual since he mentioned stalling issues. But who knows.

Yea manual, I don't normally stall but we all make mistakes... but it seems there's a weird delay that disables the starter for a little while, u know how the auto headlights have a delay to turn off... well its kind of the same with the alarm... but I could be in middle of traffic and stall by accident and the car will not start for like almost a good minute and i look like a total douche when it happens during traffic... I have the python 991...

But I did find a trick to bypass that... just wondering if anyone else had that similar issue

Next time, try taking the key out and opening your door just enough to make the radio turn off. Lower your "headlight on" time to it's lowest setting or turn it off.

Had this issue with my buddies '10 'Stang with a similar remote start. This would allow him to restart it with no issues.

We never could figure out why it did this. Must be something in the PCM.

Well I finally figured it out thank God :-o even before this thread... I just turn the key all the way off, then put the dash brightness all the way up till the dome light comes on, then turn it off, then turn the car back on... just wondering if its just how the electronics on these cars are to these aftermarket alarms
