The a/c shuts off at WOT and high rpm's on all cars. It's there because the a/c compressor will build up too much pressure and the relief valve will vent your refrigerant out if not.

^ this.. it's more of an RPM cutoff than WOT

I know...almost as funny as you having you a/c on when racing.

"a/c on when racing"? I never said that nor did any of the previous posters. Obviously you're confused - sure you're reading the right thread?

Any damage if this happens? Or nothing to worry about? Just curious.

I found no mention of a WOT cutout in either the wiring diagrams or the factory manuals. There is, however, a pressure switch just past the compressor that will shut the compressor down above a certain pressure. This likely performs the function of a WOT cutout.

Interesting that my '95 SHO has a dedicated WOT cutout, and this car doesn't.

It will over pressure the a/c system and there is a relief valve built in the back of the compressor that will release some of your refrigerant. No damage but your a/c won't work as good with low refrigerant.

It's built into the logic somehow. Either through the pressure switch or some other way. Same thing pretty much. There's also no more throttle cable so that might be why there is no more WOT cutout.

The looks of the '13s are growing on me. When they first came out I didn't like the front or rear of the car. I traded in an '08 for one reason - 420 HP. I think the '08s have a nicer looking front although I'm getting to like the new front a little more than I did before. I now like the rear better than the '08 - the dark plastic looks especially nice against a bright color like yours. The '13 rides nicer also. Good luck with yours.
