#8 issues

I am curious if these #8 issus from tunes are starting to die down or pick up. I just ordered some F14 20's and figure I am going to need to add some power to make up for the added weight. I usually don't have a problem puling the trigger on a mod but this for some reason has me really worried.

the only ones I know that had the problem were from a company or two right after the new mustangs came out. It havent heard of a car in a while having the problem.

I say go ahead and get a tune. Just make sure it's from a well known company. The bugs have been worked out by now.

I'm new here but have been reading posts for a couple days. I have a "late build" 2012. It rolled off the line in January of 2012. Im interested if Deyshahas any input. I know my dealer warned me when I picked it up about making any changes, and that was just a week ago.

Yea if #8 goes they will see you made a change to the ECU. They will void your warranty and call it a day. And typically they will have already done quite a bit of work and they will charge you for it. This is why I am wondering if places like BAMA have been experiencing any more tune issues.

AM manned up and slapped a warranty on their tunes. So no need to wonder.

By the way, from what I understand, the Forgestar F14's are lighter than the OEM wheels.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Brenspeed one of the ones blowin' them and not standing behind them the whole time?

Also, how long has the guy been running that tune? Perhaps he had one of the old tunes, and it finally let go?

According to the OP he was running the tune for quite some time. The car had over 12k miles when it let go.

Quite some time...as in til your warranty runs out anyway? As was already mentioned, AM has a warranty for their tunes. Nothing to worry about...

Lol naw I have a 7 year warranty so cant wait for that to end lol. So they do warranty through the companies that provide the tune like BAMA? I was looking on their site and didn't see any warranty information.

Yes - there's an entire #8 thread on here and BrenSpeed just let the guy eat it.

I don't know that other tuners provide any warranty, but AM does.:

Steeda has had 0 # 8 failures to date and will stand behind any tune we produce. We know these cars very well and have worked with Ford Motor Company to know exactly where we can take these Mustangs and not have any issues.

Steeda stands behind their products 100%. We rely on past experiences and success rates that other companies can't compete with. If you are concerned about tunes, then do a search for Steeda and see what comes up. I will save you the time and inform you to date, we have zero issues or denials with regard to an OEM warranty when our products have been installed as directed on consumer
cars - ZERO!

We have some of the best tuners in the business. These are not just part time guys that do tunes on the side; these are Steeda employees that have a tremendous talent and knowhow of creating tunes. You don't become a well respected company over night that works closely with Ford Motor Company. It takes years of flawless execution to be recognized as the largest privately owned Ford performance based operation in the world.

PM if you have any questions, if not, see for yourself the Steeda difference

Best Regards,
